Jim, Thanks, I have asked the DR he really does not know. The lab is labcorp, this was not done through my study, I went outside for this test. Report reads: Patient's specimen is NEGATIVE for hepatitis c virus RNA by the polymerase chain Reaction (PCR) Amplification method and DNA probe Detection. I would love to know how low 100, 50 , ? Thanks Pam
Is there any fine print on your lab report? It took me a while to figure out the how to read mine and found that my goes >75. Maybe call the lab to find out the sensitivity.
The description sounds sort of generic, what lab is being used? My guess is that it's a PCR that reflexes to a more sensitive qualitative, meaning that if the PCR is negative it automatically goes to a more sensitive test. Again, I'm just guessing here but if you have the name of the lab it should be easy enough to look up. You can always ask your doctor's office as well, but if it were me I'd want to know the name of the lab and double-check myself like you are doing. If you already had the test run, ask them to fax the actual report to you both for the name of the lab and because the sensitivity of the test should be on the report.
Be well.

Labcorp has a Quant that reflexes to a genotype test. Were they testing for genotype by any chance? In any event that particular test has a sensitivity of 10 IU/ml, but not sure if it's the same test.
I'd suggest you get hold of the actual report and see if the sensitivity is listed. If not, call the lab directly and reference your report, or have your doctor's office call the lab and find out. Let them earn their keep so to speak. Let us know what you find out.
Be well.
