Juicing

My wheatgrass has almost sprouted and should be ready to harvest (cut) at 5 inches long this week. Is this okay to take.

Sorry I did not see your response earlier. Sporadic online postings on my part. I will look for the powdered form as I too have heard there are days when I won't want to bother with my fresh wheat grass juicing. OMG, I have inspired you. Who knew. That is a tremendous gift if ever there was one. Best wishes on your journey.

Hi There... Interesting. That is a good idea. I find it hard to take the time to grow  my wheat-grass, cut it and then juice it during the best of times. It may be a struggle on not so well days, should they occur. HA...Did not know it is available in powdered form. Every post is so informative from all of you. You in turn have inspired me toward treatment. Thank you

I thot I responded to this..brain fog... I add a green defense to my morning protein shake. (most days) I only use 1/2 scoop now, because of tx. Too tired to juice before work. Maybe I'll get back w it on spring break.
You're an inspiration! Karen :)

We have a great juice place near us.  The owner treated himself while undergoing chemo, and had an outstanding outcome.  He's learned a lot about helping cancer patients undergoing chemo tx, and was able to give us some guidance as well.  Fresh green juice with lots of ginger.  He's tried to get  my husband to take some straight ginger juice as he says it tonifys the blood, also garlic, but husband won't do either.  Can't say I blame him.  I will say that he hasn't become anemic at any point.  His hgb went down to 11.2 at one point, but dr. reduced riba right away.  He's stayed in the 13.5-13.8 range for the rest of tx so far.  Don't know how much to attribute to juice, how much to riba reduction, or how much to plain good luck, but we'll take it!

I sure hope it's OK.  My husband has been taking wheatgrass shots throughout treatment, along with fresh green juice.  Had to stop for  a while during INC as it was upsetting his stomach, but is back on.  Don't see how it could hurt.  Wheatgrass is amazing stuff.

Yes....I usually get a shot glass worth and dump it into some other concoction that I have just made. I use to wheatgrass juice a few years back and the rewards were quite remarkable...Will ask my doc as well. How exciting...Thank you

Wheatgrass juice should be taken in a 'shot' glass-you can chse w/a lemon wedge. My hep doc said it was ok for me and I hve read that it can help w/hgb issues.
