Just a quickie ....

Been doing fabulous!  I'm 15 weeks post now and feel better than I have in years. The joint pain is totally FUBAR but I'm coping well with it. My energy, focus and ability to savor the goodness in my life is back. I want to remind those of you who are treating and feeling like it will never end to snap out of it!  (Just kidding)

Seriously, it gets better. Much better. Having people who treated and then came back to tell us that it's all going to be fine really helped me trudge through.

And now ........ drum roll .........

I had week 12 post PCR a few weeks ago. I got busy with work (and my typical avoidance disorder) and didn't go promptly for the results.

I'm happy to report that I'm still UND!

(cue fireworks and War of 1812 Overture)

For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of coming along kicking and screaming on my tx journey, I'm a porky g3 who didn't clear at week 4. My hemoglobin rarely changed through tx. I had a touch of fatty liver on my liver bx. I got scared witless more than once by the dire and doom warnings and was already making plans to retreat before I finished. I did 27 weeks.

Now go finish treatment and come back to tell us how good it can be. And for those of you treating for infinity or on another go-around, you'll always be my hero. That includes people who have gone away.

MY GI doesn't want to do another PCR for another 6 months and I'm okay with that. For now, the score remains:

SQ - won
Dragon - zero

(VERY late to this party....)

Wow, I missed this earlier post, I am SO happy to hear how much better you're feeling!  You have had such a difficult time, and wow, now you're SVR!!  Huge congratulations on that accomplishment!

I've been thinking of you a lot, was trying to get around to writing a note, these days I procrastinate more than ever!  Something about the tx meds...  So I finished too, one month post now, and am gradually feeling better.  It doesn't happen right away, does it, but I know that "better than ever" is a real possibility, so I'm going for it!!

I (unknowingly) sat on a broken chair at a patient's house. I heard the CREAK an instant before it splintered and I twisted quickly to break the fall. Not smart. So I'm out with a sprained back. The comp doc said "light duty" and my employer said "go home."

I felt very sluggish and slow for a while after I finished. The fog was lifting from my head but my body wasn't in step. I'd say that it took about two months before my energy levels were acceptable. BTW - you're newly finished (and you too Epi, my friend!) so congrats on that. One day you'll hit a point where you sort of realize that things shifted back to the way they should be, but it takes time.

Ricki62 - My GI told me about halfway through treatment that I was going to feel GREAT soon after it was over. I felt like clam dip on a ritz cracker and did not believe her. She was right. Stay hopeful. It may take time but you will feel better!

And one other thing:

You guys are perverts (and I love it)! I may be on my back again, but at least I'm not a hot diaphoretic mess anymore. I also seem to have misplaced the "touch my skin again and I will rip your nostrils out" look that I came to master during tx.

Thank you, Sunqueen, for sharing your story..I get really depressed when I read all the comments regarding feeling bad after treatment and the virus coming back. Your positive attitude made my day. I have 103 days left on my treatment (not that I'm counting or anything)..Genotype 1 and now have zero viral load since week 7 so I'm hopeful that I will be fine too. Enjoy your health, my dear!!

An accident at work? What the heck happened?

Wondering about that 'cause since I finished tx, I seem to be accident-prone, which I wasn't. Am even anxious about driving and used to be confident, even over-confident.

Don't have my old reflexes back and it puts me out of sorts big time.

I could definitely use a spare friend.

Just want to say thanks to everyone!  I had an accident at work the day after I posted this and have been majorly out of sorts. If anyone could use a spare friend, I'll happily send you my buddy, Murphy.

In the meantime, I still feel great and have been taking up all sorts of new hobbies. Even got in a little beach time :D

I didn't miss that either but felt it was time to reign myself in and pretend to be proper, what with the kids home for the weekend.

I could never pass on a quickie......

I'm really glad to hear you are feeling better.

Really glad.  The SVR12 is probably solid within a percent or two and so you are probably golden.  Since you are feeling so much better the next 12 weeks will be easier to tolerate.  Enjoy em!!!!!!!

Glad to get the good news..... your neighbor to the south,

Willy

Congratulations!

Virtually SVR and you're feeling better already.

And I love your avoidance technique, practice it myself now and then and find it first rate, especially about PCR's.

I'll always remember your beautiful pasta photos, partly because I've been too lazy to make any for thirty years. I'll never forget your eye photo either.

"Seriously, it gets better. Much better" sounds very wonderful to me. I hope I'm lucky, too.

You're an amazing woman.

Just wanted to let you know that I stopped tx almost 4 weeks ago and am feeling fab. My energy levels are over the roof, just the muscles are still a bit weak, but am biking every day. So yes, everyone needs to know that there is hope after tx.

Much love, Marcia

Super news.  You had some tough sx and it's good to know you're doing so well and on  your back to the good life.  Many are posting these days how good they are feeling after tx is over.  Certainly gives us a boost.

Take care and looks like you got this one in the bag.
