Last Shot

Hi all!!!!
Tonight is my last shot 49/49 for some reason they added the extra week. For all the newbies my name is Debra,I started Tx on June 18,2004. My stats were genotype 1, viral load over 4 mil. biospy results stage 4 grade 8.I also have hep B.
I was undetectable at weeks 12, 24, and had them check on the hep b last month when I had my bloodwork it was undetectable also.
I am taking Ribavirin and Interferon alfa-2b well at least 1 more tonight.
I think I've had every sx. listed at some point during this tx.I don't post ofton mainly because of my eyes it makes my head hurt but I do try to catch up on my good days.
I had a baseline eye exam. before tx. during tx I got optic neuritis and lost a  small amount of vision on my right side. I go back to the eye Dr.next week, but I can already tell that the swelling behind my eye has went down.
There are so many of you that have help me to get to this point, without the support from all of you guys and my wonderful husband I'm not sure I would have made it to the end.  You guys are an amazing group of people!!!!!
I will let ya'll know how my 3 month test turns out.                   Be Well, Debra

Congratulations Debra!  I'm so happy for you that you got to the end.  I can imagine the relief and emotions that must come into play when you take the last shot.  I have a long wait to get to that point...16/48 only.  As for your eyes, I'm so sorry you had this added worry and burden during all the other sides.  I have been checked alot by my eye doctor as well as my pressure was very very high to begin with but so far I'm o.k.  My doctor told me that over 90% of the patients who devlope problems with their eyes on this treatment recover completely after it ends....so I'm sure you will be in that lucky percentage! I'll be thinking of you on your road to being virus free and I'll be wishing you SVR the whole way.
Best to you and congratulations on that last shot! Wow, you made it through!

Big congratulations!  It is a major achievement completing a year and I hope you have some energy left over to celebrate with.  If you don't mind, please keep us posted on the optical situation.  It would be great if it resolved on its own, time healing all wounds and so on....and straight on to SVR!

CONGRATULATIONS on making it this far. Hopefully tonight will be the last time  you have to stick yourself with a needle. I know that was one of my biggest reliefs. It is a real emotional one.

It has been a long ride, and hopefully worth the trip. I will be praying for good results.
