Liver Enzyme Levels

I was diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis two weeks ago.  Liver enzyme levels were well over 3,000 and dropped to ~600 within the first week of therapy with prednisone and Imuran.  Liver enzyme level is holding steady at ~500 the second week.  How long should I wait to see my levels drop to within normal range.  I am already at Stage and am concerned that my liver is still being damaged.

No known cause.  Apparently it has been active for quite some time.  I do not have viral hepatitis.
