I actually looked up the disease Thallasemia (sp) anyway its a blood disorder and contraindicates eating iron, There was some pretty interesting information.  From what I've been hearing, water is very important and stress reduction.  Good luck and if I have more time and the correct spelling I will get back to you.... You shouldn't drink anything alcoholic and avoid iron rich foods.
You should probably also restrict your salt intake.
Ideally, eat food that is organic and fresh. Stay away from processed foods. Eat mostly complex carbohydrates, veggies, fruit and smaller amounts of animal protein.

Your liver is a filter. If there are additives in your food, your liver has to work harder.
And also avoid inhaling solvents. Even what we breathe is filtered through our livers.

If you read the above post from hepatitis researcher about cucurmin, there is a list of prior posts dealing with supplements.

You might look at the janishepc/7 web site for more food info.

Good luck.
