♥MISSED you guys!♥… What do you guys think about my numbers?

I went to the doctor it had been 4 mths and when I went back the doctor said my blood deteriated. With that being said they let me drive 45 mins with 3 kids knowing that its hard on me anyway DIDNT even call and tell that they DONT know my geno type and that the therapist DIDNT write the letter so the Only thing accomplished was I got my levels and re gave blood

bilirubin 1.1
AST 34
ALT 42
Alkaline phosphate 74
He said they were low. He also said its possible that they DIDNT test for my kind. They only for the most common types for around here

If they don't know your genotype then you need to put your foot down and insist they do the appropriate test to determine genotype.  If you're a genotype 3, triple therapy is ineffective and insurance companies will only pay for triple therapy for genotype 1.  No doctor can effectively treat a patient with HCV based on the fact that genotype 1 is more common.  Even if you do have genotype 1, the new protocol is to treat with a protease inhibitor in addition to interferon and ribavirin which is called triple therapy.  Triple therapy is response guided so it may not be necessary to treat "longer" as your doctor stated.

Blood deteriorating means nothing.  The type of treatment protocol is based on genotype.  Additionally, liver biopsy is used to determine if treatment is even necessary at this point unless you're committed to treating regardless of your liver health.

It's all sounds nonsensical to me.

You seem really thorough on what you wrote. He's a resident not the actual doctor. But the doctor seem just just be checking for track marks or something. I told them I was clean and have been in the program for over a year and am really working hard in my recovery and always am. He creeps me out and don't say to much when he does come in the room. On the geno type they said it showed up the same. Blood deteriated so they are just going to treat me for type 1 the most common and longer treatment medication time period. Sry I was so whinny on here I was just upset when I posted. I'm very grateful to be who I am and have what I have in my life. Not the C but my home children the Fellowship of narcotics anonymous and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our wonderful heavenly father God! I'm very lucky just not with doctors and nurses. My way of finding out was I was home with my 3 year old at the time and pregnant with my 10mth old and the nurse called about a test for something else and said o you know you're positive for hepatitis C Right? I hit the floor on my knees in front of my son crying then realized he was watching stood up and swallowed the tears and comforted my Sweet Baby trying to comfort me. Now this guy. But I have a better relationship with God and Jesus so maybe the could direct me to the RIGHT doctors for me. Thank you guys for your time and compassion.
God BLESS you guys!

The lab really needs to test for your genotype as this determines the treatment protocol you would follow. It does not matter which types are common in your area. There are different treatment protocols and medications for different genotypes. It is not a "one size fits all" kind of treatment. Plus, you may be eligible to participate in a study. There are many new promising medications on the horizon.

What kind of doctor did you see? Even your regular GP will test for Genotype and viral load. This is what gets the ball rolling for you. Perhaps you could ask that doctor's office for a referral to a GI or maybe even a Hepa. I never feel comfortable encouraging someone to dump their doctor especially if poor communication is the issue. The thing is if the tests you listed were the only ones performed than I fear you may have waited three months for noting.

OH is right: your labs are yours. Have the doctor's office fax or email your labs since it is a long drive. Please be sure to post again if it seems like I am missing something.

Your labs look good to me.
Its obvious you're not happy with your doctor. Perhaps it's time to find a better one.

Are these the only labs they took ?
You do have the right to have copies of all your lab work.
