I just ate crackers and took it easy and drank gingerale. A lot of people have advised trying ginger saying it works great but I just made do (stupid).
I lost 20 pounds in the beginning of treatment (and I didn't have it to lose) but slowly and surely most of it came back as I felt so much better as time went on.
I'd bet it will dissapate eventually on its own so hang in there!
Wish I had better advice for you but aside from fudgicles.....that is the only thing that makes ME feel better.
I had about 2 months worth of nausea and vomiting. It mostly happened in the morning (awful). My NP tried everything. I finally went on Nexium, which was my magic pill. I also take Riba with something fatty or flax seed oil, seems to go down real easy. I still battle nausea but it isn't as bad. Oh, they also gave me a little pill to help with nausea, Zydus, or something like that.
Good luck on this one.
I have nausea sometimes. My doc had me get Prilosec OTC. It seems to help. I got a script for Nexium, but the ins. won't pay. Oh well. Just remember not to take Maalox or tums or things like that. They cut down on the absorbtion of the Riba.
Cuetus' suggestion of ginger does work. I used it for dogs you would get car sick when traveling to/from shows and for Collies, which should not drool like St. Bernards, it cleared them up within a few minutes when I would give them a pinch or two of pure ginger powder.
If nausea gets bad, ask your doctor about Zofran. I found nausea one of the worst side effects but fortunately it went away by week six or seven. That's not uncommon.

Ditto to Jim's comment. Zofran is good (fewer side effects than other nausea drugs--some knock you for a loop) and my nausea also went away after about week 6.
I also found it to be very helpful to eat small amounts of food frequently. One of the best for me was plain old-fashioned Saltine crackers (a favorite for pregnant women with morning sickness). Even when I didn't want to eat anything, if I could eat a couple of those, I'd feel better. I went through phases of different things tasting OK and I'd have small amounts of that (e.g., peanut butter, sometimes weird things which I won't list since you're feeling nauseated...).
Good luck to you.
Food! In my experience I only was nauseas with Riba, when I didn't take enough food with it. Or, the right kind of food. Cereal didn't cut it. I learned very quickly that it had to be dairy or something that really sticks. Very thick yougart (greek style is good)with some honey, or cheese, sour cream and apple was a great combo. Peanut butter in addition was good too. Caffiene gets me nauseas too. Now if I don't wake up and eat I still get nauseas, so I know I just have to eat. If I eat anough the night before I don't wake up that way though. Some may differ, and get nauseas either way, but that's just my experience.
My last pregnancy was horrible (contributed to by HCV? who knows
The nausea was so bad I had to be rehydrated 3 times in the ER. Ginger root steeped in hot water really helped. Today I get very nauseous with migraines and drink ginger tea - and just recently found a flavored water - peppermint water that helped with the last bout. I am a long time recovering addict-alcoholic and dont like to take ANY meds
I had the same problem about the insurance not paying for Nexium. My Np gave me a load of samples that I take. The prilosec OTC did not work for me. My doctor said that prilosec is not strong enough. See if your doctor's office will give you some Nexium samples.
After my first shot I thought I would be having alot of nausea but haven't had it since that first time.
Just in case --I got some nausea medication from the doctor (suppositories) It's "Phenadoz"-(Promethazine HCI 25 mg.)Relatively cheap but don't know how effective because I've never had to use.
Hope you get to feeling better.
I was warned specifically NOT to take peanut butter when Nauseous, as it is too greasey and actually upsets the belly more. Ginger works great, but usually isn't strong enough when the meds really work there magic. I was rx'd Zofran, which works, but usually just puts you to sleep. It makes you real drowsy, and tired.
What I found worked the best, honestly..Xanax. It relaxes you, sort of gets you high, and eases the nausea.. It usually made me calm down and relax long enough to get some food down.
But definately stay away from greasey foods.
My doctor recommended marijuana (medical of course), which supposedly has helped many fight nausea in other forms of chemotherapy. Marijuana doesn't agree with me so I declined. Perhaps the relaxation effect that Snookmeister refers to with Xanax is partly at work.
I used to take a good quality yogurt, probiotic, and sip spoonfuls until it went away.
I was on vicoprofen and the hydrocodone in it helped my intestinal problems, but others get sicker with it. I heard ginger is very good.
