double dosed at some point

Okay so I think I have been doing pretty great with getting the fat in and pills on time ...I had one mishap with an incivek getting covered in milk and ruined....but it did not affect any doses until it comes down to the last dose. (I'll be short one pill.)
Other than that I am pretty sure I got 100% in.
When I was hospitalized with the anemia I was out of my routine and it was hard to be as organized as I am at home, I also had a lot of confusion going on with these sides.
I just went over my pills very carefully and realized I probably double dosed at some point. We have often talked about missing a dose...well what about the opposite? Now I will be 3 pills short for the last day. I Don't know if I should try to ask Incivek to replace 3 pills for my last day? I also wonder how taking the extra incivek has affected me. Thoughts?

:(goodness there is nothing worse then being nauseous all day and night. Throwing up is awful..incivek would be even worse.

Being that this happened while I was in the hospital already and hooked up to every machine and test possible, I think I will be okay, fortunately. I have just under 3 weeks left :) and even though brain fog makes no promises. I think. I will be able to do okay since I am at home now and back on schedule. (Hubby is helping out too) won't let it happen again, that's for sure !

I forgot what to post as soon as I got to the box - less than 3 seconds.  OK  the loop is at least intact. . . Ironpony, I had a PA tell me that I should be very careful about taking the pills.  She cautioned me to not miss a dose accidently or double a dose either.  She also added doubling a dose was dangerous where as missing a dose was not.

Ok    She told me if I thought I had inadvertantly taken two Inciveks at once, that I should go to the ER immediately.

She scared me.  I got three alarms and charts.  I still managed to screw up some anyway = : (           (The upchuck thing - She would have me check the contents if it was with in ten minutes - bright orange pill stands out.  Euwww)

Thank you for the reassurances everyone!  Yeah I figured if my virus is still there on the last day then 3 pills really would not make a difference.
Idyllic: I only threw up once thankfully (even with zofran) it was after my fat so I had to re eat 20 grams still nauseous and it was like torture! Wow 7 days of missing incivek is crazy! I am glad they sent more. (Looks like you got 110% in;p)
I am so glad the incivek is almost over. I want my stomach back.
I didn't think brain fog could be this bad. I want my brain back too!

**Just thought that I would add my doctor's office thought missing any more than one day was too much.

Yes, it normal for some of us to forget taking a dose five minutes after. The pill box helps some folks stay organized but I was so spacey when I was taking the Incivek. I honestly had a terrible time with names, places, word retrieval and the like. Not to worry, about a week or ten days after the Incivek you will get more clear headed and not be so spacey when the only pills you take is the Riba.

I have posted this before but trust me know one knows more than I do how easy it is to double dose. I think it was when I was counting my pills to see how many days I have left that I noticed I was a whopping 7 days short of Incivek.

I told Incivek that in the beginning I was sick a lot and vomited a few doses then for the rest I must have double dosed. I had to tell them something semi-reasonable so I did not look like a (complete) moron.

Anyway, They told me if it were one or two days I would be OK *but* that my doctor's office would likely have some extras (since he was involved in the studies) but agreed that one week was too many doses to miss so they sent me another carton (7 blister strips with 6 tablets per strip).

Not to worry, just take what you got and you will be fine. They expect some screw ups and really you have done pretty good... As for double dosing at one time it won't harm you as they had trials with much larger doses per day, while it didn't help it didn't do anybody any harm....... Best to you.

Got to love that brain fog.:)

Hi, I think the repetitive task of taking pills messes w/ our memories. I don't think it is brain fog. Idea, each time you pull out the pills, pull out the pen. Write it down. Swallow. Or swallow, and slap yourself really hard.
Double dose is dangerous; read that recently. Be careful.

Hi IronPony: I don't know the text book answer, but if I double dosed by accident I wouldn't be worried about it. I believe that with Incivek, 1 more day is not going to make a difference. Wrt your memory, I often forgot if I took my pills. Sometimes I would stare at the empty compartment in my pill box afterward trying to remember that I really took the pills. Anemia trashes my memory. The toxic effects of the drugs affected it too. So, you're not alone! Cheers, GB

And yes the confusion is that bad I do not remember taking my pills 5 minutes after I take them. Is that normal to be out of it on tx?
