R7128 1 year post treatment results

Just wanted to drop by and post my results from my 1 year post TX with R7128. I went to see my doctor today and I am still undetectable.

For those that do not know me I was a geno 1a with a high Viral load. My liver biopsy was stage 2 grade 2. I participated in the R7128 phase 1 trial, which consisted of 4 weeks with R7128, peg, and riba. The followed by 44 weeks with peg and riba alone. I had a 6 log drop going undetectable by week 4 and I stayed there ever since.

I apologize for not stopping by and posting more often since my treatment ended. I do occasionally stop in and read the posts. My life has been a blurr since treatment ended as I feel good and I am so busy with the kids and work. I never really have much time to go online anymore....which is actually a good thing when you think about it!

For those in the middle of your treatment, hang in there. I know the Peg and Riba are rough even brutal, but there really is light at the end of the tunnel. Hang tough and ride it out as best you can. If you need a little help with the sides then do what you have to do to see it out. I ended up taking Lexapro, Ambien, Xanax, and Tri-Chlor to deal with all the wonderful sides. I now take nothing and have my life back. Take care and God Bless

thank you for your well wishes i was on 1000 mg of R7128 in combo with the standard peg and riba. Worked like a charm. This trial is in phase II now. Trust me you will be hearing much more about this drug in the future. Telaprevir gets all the attention right now because it is going to approved really soon. Personally I like this drug beter as it has great results without the other sides that Telaprevir has. Don't get me wrong Telaprevir is a great drug but t has it's own issues (sides). This drug does not. the only sides were from the peg and riba trust me.

Congratulations! Having life completely fill the space formerly occupied by HCV sure sounds like a cure - but it's great for to hear about your  r7128 success story ( and encouraging for those left out by the 1st gen ns3/4a PIs).
