Red bumps on hands and elbows

Hi. I haven't been online in awhile. I just started a roche trial last week. Everything has been going pretty well other than a few side effects. I'm curious if anyone has ever had painful red bumps on their hands and elbows. I've had these before from time to time, but it's usually just one or two bumps that go away in a couple of weeks. I've always associated it with dry skin. This time I have a lot of bumps and they're spreading all over my hands and elbows. I went in for bloodwork today and the nurse told me she had seen this before with treatment patients. She wasn't sure of anything to get rid of them and told me to keep my hands clean and dry. Has anyone experienced this and is there anything I can put on them to get rid of them?

Thanks a bunch for any help!
Margot

Sounds like riba rash and dry skin gone wild, both common side effects.  Seems like lots of people are afflicted with skin problems, often early in tx. People get rashes and blisters and bumps and such and people have complained of getting some/all of the above in or on nearly every body part you can imagine.

I use lots of Yardley Secret Cottage natural almond oatmeal moisturizing lotion for my skin issues.  Other people swear by Gold Bond products.  Someone else (PRINCESS I think) had another good product - I've got pretty bad brain fog today so I'm not clear on details but I've seen this topic a few times. Search around on the board and you'll find good info.

try gold bond ultimate, that happens to me around my elbows especially!   You have to do it several times a day.

Good luck and hope you do well in the study!!
