fish liver oils work on a different principal than do fish oils in general.
they don't contain just omega fatty acids, known to be healthful, but they contain high amounts of vitamins A and D.

shark and halibut liver oils are higher in A and D than cod liver oil, but more expensive.
they also are overkill IMHO.

our body makes it's own vitaminD with only 10 minutes a day of sun exposure..
bith A and D work in snyergy, they have great antibacterial effects, particularly needful in eyes ears nose and throat...they protect against pink eye, strep outbreak in the throat, (we always carry strep but it is held in check by these enzymes) , they allow the eyes to see (visual purple) and they build strong bones and much more.

However, either vitamin can be toxic if over consumed. Vit. A can be very problematic for liver patients, and D can kill as well.
if you read the label on your shark liver oil, chances are it will contain many times more than the recommended daily allowance. I would strongly advise you to read up, and reconsider this idea therefore.
Like every other drug, herb, vitamin or mineral a therapeutic dose can bring better health and optimal metbolism, but overdose any of it, and it can backfire.
there are a couple good threads in here on A and D, read them, and maybe just get some cod liver oil, or a good multiple vitamin without added iron. You will get enough that way, and save money, and not risk overdosing your liver.

The liver cannot rid itself of extra A and D...they are fat soluable, but always store..
this is why is 3rd world countries world health organizations go in and dose the children 3 or 4 times a year to prevent blindness....because one high dose will last for months...

admiral perry and crew died while exploring the arctic because they ate polar bear liver, not knowing the concentration of vitamins was so high as to be deadly to humans. What bears and fish store in their livers, is not what we simians need in ours.

My understanding of squalene, or shark liver oil, is that it is an adjuvant that works in conjunction with the vaccine but on it's own doesn't have the same immune enhancing properties.  Our bodies produce a certain amount of squalene naturally and it's also found in food sources.

When I had immune system issues while I was on treatment, I researched immune system boosting agents quite a bit since neupogen was not immediately an option for me.  What I ended up settling on and taking was a mushroom that includes astragalus root extract.  Shiitake mushrooms or a component of them are believed to have immune boosting capabilities.

Now...fish oil, Omega 3, that's something else entirely and I don't profess to know enough about it so I won't comment on that.

Milk Thistle and Shark Oil are not part of the standard of care when treating hepc.  Some may take it as an adjunct to treatment but doctors here in America just give us that old nasty interferon and ribavirin.

Procrit for low hgb and Neupogen for low ANC.  Doubt milk thistle or shark oil could produce the same results.

I don't doubt it may give you energy but other then that I don't see it doing much else.
