That is okay. It is just that we do get people coming on the forum asking us if they can get HCV from touching a box of cereal in the market that someone with HCV had touched before them. Or can they get it from a faucet or a water glass that someone may have touch in the distant past. Any number of scenarios so I think when people saw the title, some or maybe even most, thought it was another one of those questions (until they read the post).

Interesting. I have been dropping things right and left lately. I hope it is from tx and that it goes away.

I found myself dropping things.  Pens especially.  Since stopping treatment, it's no longer a problem.

Yes, my husband's hands shook a lot during the first few months of tx, stopped once INC ended.  Like every sfx so far, they all seem to come and go...

Yes.  I have had shaking hands during tx, especially in the beginning.  So much so that other people have noticed.  That said, I never knew that could be related to Thyroid (thanks Will).  Most of the time, I felt better after I ate or got some more water in me.

Best to you and your Mom,
Bee

You're no the only one, though I thought it was about being afraid you'd catch something by shaking hands.
My doc is always telling me to wash my hands, it's his one obvious obsession but I guess that happens when you work in a hospital.

I have noticed very, very fine tremors in my fingers since starting treatment. No one else would notice it because it is so minimal and the tremors are so fine. I notice it if I hold my hands out straght or am trying to do something intricate, like thread a needle. My thyroid is okay (checked monthly). That does not mean your mom's thryroid is okay and, as Will posted, tremors are a symptom of hyperthyroidism and a blood test would confirm it or rule it out as a possible cause.

I would bring this to the attention of the treating doctor.

I had slight hand tremors prior to treatment, but I think treatment may exagerate it a bit.  Some of the time I feel tired and weak, or cold and my hands shake more then normal.

How do her legs feel?
Neuropathy is a possibility.
She needs to see her doctor and explain all her side effects. I wouldn't delay.

Sorry to hear about your mom having HCV and glad she is doing the Incivek tx. Hopefully she will do well.

Often early in treatment Interferon can have an effect on the thyroid gland.it can cause "hyperthyroidism" (over active thyroid)  and then  often followed by "hypothyroidism(under active thyroid)

One of the common symptoms of over active thyroid is a jiteryness(slight shaking..if that is not a word) of the hands.
I am not saying for sure this is what is going on and any side effects like this should be discussed and diagnosed by her doctor ,however a simple thyroid function test may be a good  idea.

Good luck to you and your mom...

Will
