Social Security Disability

Have any of you been sucessful in appling for Social Security Diability or Does Social Security not see this as a Disability?

Are you in stage 4 with decompensated cirrhosis?

I would hope that no one would see any of us who are positive for hep c as any less capable as anyone else unless we are having actual late stage 4 symptoms.

I have looked on line under Social Security Dis. and found a hugh long page of dis. reasons that are accepted. Hep. is one of them. I have filed for mine and of course got turned down the first time. Have filed an appeal, and have high hopes. I am co infected with b and c with cryogloublima. But i would try it. If I get turned down the second time i am going the laweyer route. Will be more than glad to help if i can but I am new to the whole process.  Trinity4 probably knows more than me about it.  ??

I've read where those who have cirrhosis or transplant or have treated and suffered debilitating side effects from multiple treatments have won SSD cases.  Most of the time it is denied and the process to receive SSD can take years.  Hepc is not considered a disability unless the person becomes completely incapacitated.  We often feel like it is a disability but unfortunately the government does not.  I guess if you can afford a top notch lawyer they may be able to help but again, I think the process would take quite a long time.
