My Patient Coordinator said that quick response was a good indicator of positive treatment outcome. She was real excited when my numbers dropped quick.
I just found out I am UNFREAKINGDETECTABLE a week ago, the blood draw was at the 2 month point - probably went undetectable sometime around 4-6 weeks….and oh, my God, this is the greatest feeling EVER! It actually took a few days to sink in. But wow!
Maybe it is just knowing that, but I only have 9 more days in this 3-month trial of O/S and it has been pretty easy overall, now that I look at it in perspective. My platelets did go up at first, then down, but now they are back up again, almost as high as in the beginning. I do take really good care of myself. Frankly, I have been having more energy lately. I have more stamina. More of me left at the end of the day!!!!
Yes, I have been very photo sensitive, but it did not kick in until week 6, which was when they then said "oh yes, that is about right" Hmmmm…they never said anything about week 6.
Anyway, for anyone having problems with photosensitivity - like myself - I would highly recommend accupuncture. It was a kind of miracle. I went from constantly icing down my chest and neck, to my skin aging overnight and actually peeling from the heat, to taking antihistamines - the highest dose overnight to trying not to scratch cause, oh brother you will be sorry! To ahhhhhh…… accupuncture good…. ;)
T: It is still one of the steps on this staircase! So count it as a positive and celebrate it. Hector is just keeping us straight so we don't get unrealistic expectations and THAT is very important.
But give yourself a small celebration for each stairstep you climb on the way to SVR.
Hectoe, I am NOT disrespecting what you do. You have been a blessing in my life - as well as in that of so many on the Forum - as true, real information is SO inportant! Keep on guiding and mentoring us!
Keep on keeping on everyone, this dragon is slayable and soon ALL will be able to reach SVR! Pat
Well thanks Hector for busting that balloon real quick! You are to smart for your own good! Love it!
How fast your viral load drops or when your viral load becomes undetectable while treating with Sovaldi/Olysio treatment is irrelevant to treatment outcome.
Only with obsolete peg-interferon and ribavirin based treatments was RVR for measuring treatment response important for predicting SVR.
The International Liver Congress™ 2014 of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) April 12, 2014
"Rapid virologic response (RVR, defined as undetectable HCV RNA at Week 4 of treatment) was not found to be predictive of achieving SVR. In patients receiving simeprevir and sofosbuvir alone for 12 weeks, 93 percent achieved SVR, while 57 percent achieved RVR. "
Hector
I went from 6 mil to undetected in 18 days
Thanks. I pray this is our magic bullet
Hi
I did not test till 4 weeks on Sovaldi Olysio. Went from 5 million at baseline to undetectable at 4 weeks
Good luck on treatment
