Started Treatment today 09/26/11

Starting treatment today. Frist RediPen injection tonight at 11 pm. So I can sleep through any side effects. Dr suggested taking motrin and tylenol 1 hr b4 injection at bed time and also 4 hrs after injection wake up and take more tylenol and motrin? Wish me luck. Anyone else starting today maybe we can track together. I am genotype 1. 57 yr old female. Will start Victrelis on week 5.

Hi there, hope you had a good week. second PegIntron tonight. Last weekend though Hurricane Irene and no power. I had only flu like symtoms. Saturday and Sunday night Muscle aches, fever 102 . Took Ibuprophen made it all go away. Hope this week end is better. So far so good. If this keeps up we may just breeze on through treatment. I hope so. Let me know how you are doing and if you dont mind telling me how far you made it the first time and why you had to stop. I did also start with a red circle around the injection this morning. Hope you do well. Have a good night. Sandy

yodennis and sschell

Me too - Did my first shot of PegIntron last night and will start the Victrelis in week 5.  No remarkable side effects.  Maybe my joints were a bit sore when I woke up, but so far so good. I have been very thirsty and have drank quite a few glasses of water.

It is nice to be on the exact start date as others.  I will watch your progress.  I know yodennis has treated before.  So have I.  What aboaut you, sschell?  Good luck with IRene

I had my week 4 shot last night.  Took a Reactine about an hour before and the rash isn't nearly as bad today as it was the first 3 weeks.  :)  Did have a headache this morning, though.

I'm Pegasys/Ribavirin/BI 20133 (or placebo)

Thank you for your comment. I guess I waited too late last night to post.I did fine last night, just had to keep getting up for bathroom, trying to stay hydrated. I only felt a little tired this am and headache. So far so good. I am in Va so we are waiting on Irene to pass through. Hope and pray everyone is safe and sound.Take care, Sandy

Welcome to the Friday night dart club! Just took mine.  Several of us shoot tonight. I didn't need analgesics til bout week 3. Usually the first couple of weeks are the easiest as far as side effects. Drink 1/2 ur body weight in water n get ur 20 grams of fat w/ Incivik.
Just think of all the good stuff killing off hep c while u sleep! Dream sweet... Karen :)

I started today (incivik and ribo doses time 2 with interferon before bed). Worked, took a long walk: no problem. I understand the reasons for ibuprofen (motrin)- non steroidal ant-inflammatory and antipyretic.  And acetaminophen (tylenol)- antipyretic. With both of them analgesics. But I have never heard of an MD suggesting both simultaneously and I have a background in pain management and health care. Anyway: don't worry: We endure what we must right. The first injection is often the most dramatic. My best. d
