Stepping backwards???

Wow I posted last night about having completed 12 week of sovaldi,olysio,and ribavirin. I had commented that I was undetectable at weeks 4 and 8. On day of final dose(January 2nd) I had a blood draw and said how I  was "cured". Well, today the clinic called and said I needed to be there today for a retest. Seems my viral load on the January 2nd blood work reflected a viral load of 3,500,000. All liver function test were actually very good so they are assuring me that this is a lab error. I sure hope so. Hopefully this Friday the 9th my results will be there for my appointment at 2:40pm. They said they had only seen this once before where a woman had a high viral load on completion and it was an error. So if mine is correct I will have the honor of being the first in my whole state to come from undetectable to the millions in just 4 weeks. I know that is possible for sure with the older treatments. My late girlfriend went from 7 to 6 million in six weeks when she came out of remission. Here's hoping!!! If true it's still all good. I'll have to wait like six weeks and start new drug Havanti? Probably spelled it wrong. Doesn't even have ribavirin in it.Still just another 12 weeks also. Sorry so long just asking the old hands at this their opinions.I have been infected over 30 years  and I don't even know what SVR means. Thanks. Peace

Sorry to hear of this but it sure sounds like a lab error as I havn't seen this scenario before. From what I've seen, if you responded during treatment and were undetected at various points, you were undetected at EOT(end of treatment). It is after stopping meds that the relapse happens, usually in the first 4 wks. This is only what I have seen, maybe it has been reported but I have not seen this before.   JM

The definition for SVR is below, just learn it since you're probably gonna attain it and there's most likely been a lab error.  That would be my guess,  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and bump you up.  good luck

SVR=Cured.
Sustained virologic response (SVR) is defined as aviremia 24 weeks after completion of antiviral therapy for chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. In analyses of SVR durability, the incidence of late relapse is extremely low (<1%).
