Supplements During Treatment

Hi there. Hubby was taking several vitamins and supplements before treatment, which we felt were very important for him. We've both been seeing a Naturopathic doc for the past couple of years, which we believe has been crucial. Hubby was told to stop taking everything. We do understand that they don't want anything to interfere with treatment, but we're very aware that most docs have little understanding or interest in vitamins/supplements. Wondering if those of you in treatment now or in the past have been told the same.

Thanks.

Looks like we're on the same page! Nice to be able to bounce these things off others.

Thanks so much.

No A, K or iron.

The problem is so many things have not been fully tested or studied as to how they could react with the medications.  Just remember to take a better safe than sorry attitude with everything that you aren't sure about.

I'm following the Same Orders from my liver specialist...I had to discontinue my natural supplement/herb regimen until after completion of treatment,  But he OK'd a multivitamin containing NO Vit A nor Iron ( so I ordered EBA which I learned about from Marcia on the Forum).  Also Ok'd continuing Vit D3, and B12 in which I tend to be low.  B12 seems to help the fatigue....week 33 of 72 and pressing on.   Praying for you both...

My gastro told me to stop taking any kind of supplements also. He did say a multivitamin would be OK but nothing else.
