Synvisc is a lubricating substance that works inside your knee joint. Adding lubrication helps to diminish the pain and discomfort of the arthritis. Synvisc works only locally. It doesn't go into the blood and doesn't have any negative effects on the liver.

I am not aware of the degree of your liver damage. If you have severe liver disease, your platelets may be very low. In this case, knee injection may cause bleeding.
