The Tooth Problem Again

My enamel disintegration is accelerating.  Has anyone had the really weak teeth "bonded" with a material that looks like your teeth.  I believe it lasts about 5 years.
I would like to avoid losing teeth, if possible.
Been here, just too worn out to post.  Still keeping up with everybody.

After 2yrs of tx my teeth have fallen apart from dry mouth. Syliva in you mouth helps decrease tooth decay.My new dentist reccomends Orbit chewing gum every day while on tx.I think it"s important for anybody taking interferon. Either that or get some really good dental insurance.Orbit seems to get your siliva going really well.

So, how nmany teeth did you take with you when you went? That's been a problem lately - all the folks with good teeth are relocating and taking their teeth with them!

Yup...a hundred bucks....I didn't even know they made 'em bigger than fifty.....but hey you learn new things everyday...did you know they still make six packs of beer...I thought they quit making those a long time ago....when the 24 packs came around...

You can bond cracked teeth? they are not fractured and broken off? I have had them extracted after fracture and my plan does not cover implants, I guess bridges will have to do.

I had an idea a couple of years back about having an Extreme Makeover show with some of the "leftovers" from tx, but it looks like they cancelled the show!

Hey goof....I'm originally from Nor Cal...must be where all the goofiness comes from.  I'm going up there to get my surgery next week.  I'm from the original toothless town....We have hours and hours of toothless jokes....and many other jokes for my area.  Do you know where Ukiah/Lakeport is?  Cross the lake and you'll see that the lack of teeth is made up for in the bottom....if you get my drift.

Depends how severe the crack is, if it's only in the enamel then yes the teeth can be bonded.

Extreme makeover would be so great!!  Instead I run out of dental insurance so quickly, then wait until the next January to have something else done...sigh...

OMG! me too! $2,000 a yr and it goes in 4 crowns or one bridge, then I have to wait until next yr also. At least we have some insurance! I wish we also had all our teeth intact so we wouldn't need to use the plan. It has been the most frustrating thing for the last 10 yrs. I guess it actually started in my early 40s. After all the gallons of milk I consumed!

I'm jealous about your dental - we only get $1500, but I have great health insurance, at least cost wise. I only pay 10%, company pays 90%. I have to stay healthy enough to work. I'm suffering now with hot flashes and taking no supplements - doc told me to stop everything for now until my levels get back to what they were. I didnt check out black cohosh and was taking it for symptoms. It did alleviate the menopuase symptoms but elevated my enzymes. :-(

Hi,I think I read a post that said you had just found out about this little traveler we have, if so, sorry about that. Looks like youre adjusting okay though, what else to do? Anyway, I'm the queen of herbs and supplementation, but I'd watch out for black cohosh, even when not treating. I don't like anything that speeds up heartbeat. Just thought I'd throw that in there. Are you presently treating?

I found out in May after my daughter was diagnosed.  We are all 1a.  I'm not treating, I'm considering it. My biopsy was a 0, 0-1 and my Fibroscan a 7.1.  I'm in a Fibroscan study. I posted a while back about being asked to consider being in the VX-950 and peg study in 2006 but I have not made any decisions yet.  My daughter refused to have a biopsy but her spleen is enlarged and doc convinced her to have on so she is doing it over Christmas break, in early January. My son has not had one either but most likely will in early spring - I am having him see my doc when he turns 18.  It's not easy to make these treatment decisions when I want to make sure my kids are taken care of first.  Thanks for the herb tips.
