This cirrhotic has SVR'd

Because of insurance and financial concerns I delayed my latest PCR until I was hovering around the 7 month post triple tx. mark. I received a voicemail from my P.A. today....I am clear...I post this more to educate than to celebrate. I was on the bottom rung of the stat ladder....I failed both mono and dual therapy (null responder) over the last 2 decades and have cirrhosis with varices and thrombocytopenia. Also my Incivek was discontinued at 10 weeks secondary to rash and anemia and my ribo was reduced at around 7 weeks secondary to anemia.....Relative to my time spent on therapy I feel terrific. I am more anabolic (building muscle when I work out) have less insomnia, and have stopped having nocturnal cramps...My best. d

youdennis, this is music to my ears.  Let me ask you two things -- did you have the varies before you treated or did that happen during or after?  I am wondering about that because of the greater risk to decomp during treatment with cirrhosis.  Also I was wondering, with the thrombocytopenia, how low were your platelets to start, how low did they get during, and what are they now?

I am so delighted that you achieved SVR.  I know it was not an eazy journey (you did 48, right?)

Thank you for posting this. Gives us (and me) great hope. Although I went UND week 4 on my study I have been obsessed with "Cirrhotic" and "SVR" rates lately. Congrats
