Treatment Responder

My doctor has informed me that initial testing at 3 months into treatment have shown that i am a responder. The virus is no longer in my system. It gives me a light to the end of the tunnel - a reason to continue with this treatment.

I have not faced too many really bad side effects - the few that i have seen I have stayed positive about - my hair is no longer dead and frizzy as most of it falls out in the shower! this is not a bad thing - i have wanted healthy hair for quite some time now LOL

The headaches are daily - i am a little concerned as i am taking up to 15 Tylenol 3 a day - i have just asked my doctor for toradol and we will see if that works. with my history of addiction dont need to be feeding it with the codiene

One thing i have noticed is i am extrememly grumpy - sometimes - when i am tired or stressed or overworked - i tend to snap at people - not so great when its the boss i am snapping at! LOL

I have been drinking lots of water - cutting alot of carbs out of my diet, and excercising when i can - i find that if i enroll myself in a class i will go. so that is what i do - start going for 5 hours a week at the end of june and see how that goes.

one thing i would really like to pass on - is please stay as positive and active as possible - even when you dont feel like dragging yourself our of bed - just do it!! go for a short walk outside - it makes a world of difference!

Peace and good luck to you all
D

I am happy to hear that you do get that extra help from your children. I'll bet it comes in handy, and since they are home for the summer, they will lighten your housework load. You certainly do contribute inspiration here, and I am glad you are part of the "family".......Peace

I have no children, but my niece (now 13) and one or two of her girlfriends spend weekends with me.....half way through tx, I had to tell her that we had to postpone the visits for awhile, she cried, it broke my heart, but I knew that I could not muster the energy even for one night with two or three teenagers.....Bless your heart, teenagers need a special type of energy from us, and having 5 in the same house must be an experience. I am sending you some good thoughts and wishes your way........and remember, we are here to listen anytime you need to just unload..........even listening to your story helps many of us.......Thank you for sharing, and hope that you have many good days......

I, too, am plagued with the headaches. My doc prescribed Imitrex which is for migraines and it works for me. Tylenol and other pain killers would only put a dent in the headache but the Imitrex really knocks it out. You might want to call your dr and see if this would work for you as well. I just did 35/48 last week and would not have made it this far if the headaches had continued for me.

Good luck with your continued tx.

I don't know about the rest of you but my DR told me that taking to much tylenol or acetominophen is bad for us heppers. My primary DR gives me darvon 65 for the pain. I treally helps. I am also allergic to codein but the darvon has no acetominophen which is hard on the liver especially taken in high doses. Try to find something without it in it.Please! I am on weeek sixteen and also get headaches just about everyday and with 5 teenagers all on summer vacation the noice never stops. But last time i was on tx i locked myself away in my bedroom and became suicidal because i thought no body cared out of sight out of mind and all that. The second time around I told them that i am not hiding and that when i need it to be quiet it will just have to be,it last about five mins but what ya gonna do with teenagers 3 girls 2 boys Hand in there it will get better

                Actually goinseagle now busdrvr

I see that Soulangel said something about cutting back on carbs - is this something that's recommended for patients on treatment? I'm in week 7, and started the South Beach Diet two weeks ago, which is low-carb in nature. I've noticed that I've felt great these last two weeks - I wonder if there's a connection.

CONGRATULATIONS ON BECOMING UNDETECTABLE!!!

That is GREAT news and goes a long way to helping make it all the way through!!!

Fifteen tylenol a day sounds like it has the potential to be rather taxing to the liver. Hopefully you'll be able to find something that can alleviate the pain without asking too much of the liver. I'm sure others here that have experience with managing pain throughout tx can offer you some good advice.

Best to you as you rid yourself of this rotten disease.

I am wondering what tx you are on?? Is it peg 2b or pegysus, as continuous headaches is what the nurse in my Dr's office told me about pegysus. Just curious, thanks, and best of luck with the dragon!!

I wholeheartedly agree with you two ladies, as lousy as a person is feeling, they just gotta try and keep moving. I just finished mowing the lawn and I don't think I have actually even sat down since I got up at 5 am. I'm afraid if I do, I will never get up again! LOL. I don't know if it is the stress I am under at this particular time but my shot yesterday kicked the **** out of me, I feel like a train wreck but haven't even the slightest hope of getting over to that couch. Does anyone know if stress truly affects sx???

Unfortunately, being the weekend my husband has still not gotten any positive answers to this mysterious infection. He still has high fever and is waiting for an internist to cut his golf game short and see him. I'm beginning to think I will be lucky to have him home mid-week. Okay, better go, before I can't rmove myself from the computer chair and just collapse here! Good luck to everyone on their sides today (everyday). Couch

Glad to see ya posting!! I don't think I have ever seen you here before and hope you continue to come! I agree with you in the fact there is days,,,it would be so easy to stay in bed. Once you get going though and push yourself,,,you find that you do feel better as day goes on. Sounds like you have a wonderful son and he is being so understanding. I also wake up to the smallest noise and can be like a bear! There is so many times,,,noises just really bother me,,,lots of people talking in a room, tv...I just want quietness but what do we do...LOL Tell the world to be quiet while we are going through tx? haha would be nice! My dr said of all the people he treats,,,,that the ones that have the easiest sides are those that exercise daily,,at least 40 mins daily. I think if anything it probably takes our minds off our feeling poorly and gets us side tracked! Good Luck to you and hang in there!! We are all taking it step by step!
