An exclusive patent allows the company to recoup the cost of developing that particular drug. Which drug manufacturers say costs generally upwards of $800 million. After the patent on a drug expires, any pharmaceutical company can manufacture and sell it; only manufacturing cost will be incurred, which is a small fraction of the cost of original testing and development the drug.
In the U.S., the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which President Obama signed on March 23, 2010, authorized the Food and Drug Administration to approve generic versions of biologic drugs and grant biologics manufacturers 12 years of exclusive use before generics can be developed.
Some else may have heard a rumor as to cost of new DAA meds. All new drugs will probably be rather expensive so either a trial or insurance will be needed to pay for the meds.
Cheers!

It will all depend on your insurance company...the deductibles, co-pays, etc.
In canada..... the speculation is these new meds will be at least double the cost of current treatment. and like everywhere It will remain to be seen what the insurance companies do .
Also, any idea how much tela will cost. I don't know how I afford all these meds and still maintain current standard of living for my family
