Bit Concerned , should i be ?

Just now i got the fear of HCV .

yesterday i had normal blood works done . Before doing blood work , I paid the test fees and got back the remaining money form the counter and entered the room to give my blood sample . There Blood works was done after it i had cotton on the place where the blood was drawn for a minute and then took the cotton away and i just touched the blood drawn area with my fingers ( I don't know why i did it ).

Everything was fine yesterday . But today when i took back the amount that i got form the lab . I fount that the remaining money ( One of the Money note ) that i got after paying the fees had blood stains on it . What if i have touched the blood stain on it and then touched the area where the blood was drawn.

I am not sure how many days the blood stain was old . And i am also not sure whether the blood money note was had wet or dry blood when i got it . I did not find anything unusual while i got back the amount . The only thing that i know about the incident it that the money that i got had small visible dry blood stains on it and i touched the blood drawn area of the body dirty hands .

I Just got this fear and I don't want to put this thing on mind and confuse myself.

Can you guys help me ? is there slight chance of getting infected this way ?

No there is no chance yet once again.  Maybe a billionth of a .1 of a chance but nothing more.

If you are that concerned go and get tested and you will know for 'certain' either way.

thanks all , for answering ( answering with humor ) .

Now i am trying to put my mind at rest . Saying to myself to "Cool move on " . But Little bit of anxiety and fear over HCV remains due to this event .

finally , If there is even very small, 0 to 1 percent of chance of infection form this event . You people let me know . So i can do something earlier .

Thanks again .

I forgot to mention there is a 5% disposal fee for the tainted money, payable in advance :o)

If this happens again in the future, please send any questionable cash to me, and I’ll carefully inspect it. In fact encourage all your friends to do the same; we can never be too careful with money…

Thanks.

I touched the part when it was still red . Just  after taking the cotton away form the hands after drawing blood :-(  .

But it did not bleed a lot  . But i found a fresh red color where the needle was injected ( sized the tip of needle , as if ready to bleed , but did not bleed) .i touched the area after wiping the blood coming out with cotton .

No chance.... Their blood has to get INSIDE of your blood stream and you weren't bleeding so it was already coagulated.

to copyman :
No problem . I did not take it as fun . i just took it as you are asking to take it easy. Thanks.

Thanks to all . I am much relaxed .

But i would like to say another thing on my concern ( I am not asking any reassurance , i think i was not clear about the exact scenario , So i am asking this ).

I actually touched the area which was punctured by syringe to draw blood . when i touched it the area was little red and it had a very tiny red wound ( which has just bleeded) . I felt i did not touch the exact intact skin .

If there was NO risk of Infection as said above . I am much relaxed . I am not asking for reassurance . But if there was any change in opinion please say me

No you have nothing at all to worry about, if it were that easy to get HCV that way everybody on earth would have it.

NO concern.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am sure its not my blood because after paying the bill, i kept the note in wallet and then only went into room to give blood and then opened the wallet today only . I was little worried thinking of someone could have had given their blood stained money note and I got it and touched it and then touched my blood taken area .

Hearing facts about HCV i am bit afraid . Sorry .

NYG LOL. I like your advice to pay with check. This adds a whole new meaning of blood money :-)

To answer the original question, you have nothing to worry about.

it was probably YOUR blood.

NO either way.  If money freaks you out so much after you get a blood draw wear gloves or pay with a check.
