Tx side

Hi,
I'm on week  11. So feelings are very diferent all the time - have plenty of energy few days after a shot. Some day before shot energy level fall down  and I have to wait for the next injection. Sometime I have headache approx. 1x week. So I would like to ask - may I use some medicine to avoid from headache or it is forbidden? Also is it important to make shot in one time of day (morning) ?

Thanks

Yes, NYGirl, it is funny.  Even interferon and riba say not to use if you have liver disease.  Go figure.  :)

Just about every single commercial on tv says not to take with liver disease..........it's AMAZING the amount of drugs that we shouldn't take at all.

You are so right. I've noticed it and worried a bit but then realized...if I was ever so incapacitated that I couldn't mention it - it would probably be so crucial I have the med it wouldn't matter anyway ;)

It's so important to pay attention to things like this that I shouldn't even joke around.

Hi, I am on week 18, and I take IBP just when I really need it. I always do my shot around the same time each week, does it matter?? I am just a creature of habit.I do mine around 4 or 5 so I can sleep through any bad sides. I to have plenty of energy two to three days after my shot, and I  crash the day before shot. Good luck Pam

My doc gave me imitrex for migraines. They work quickly and are not a pain killer. They do kill the pain though! On tx I began having them again and don't know what I would do without the imitrex. I only have to take them once in awhile....

Smart point about the card. The situation never crossed my mind, but you are dead right about the risk of being loaded up with liver eating drugs in a ER.

FWIW, my guys recommend Tylenol for pre-shot and general symptoms, but no more than 2000mg in 24 hours. Guess they are just not the thrill seeker types.

I had horrible headaches at the beginning of treatment, and for me (with the Dr's/Nurse's Blessing) one aleve and one tylenol helped.  In general, tylenol was the best all around.

I believe that it's important to take the shot at the same time every week just because...we have to be completely in the habit of taking it so we don't forget.  I don't think the "hour" matters that much as long as you take it on the right day. But the doctors do tell us to take our meds ON TIME EVERY TIME. So that is what I do.

As far as headaches - different doctors say different pain relievers (although I believe most say take Tylenol). Taking two tylenol on shot night is a VERY common piece of advice that they give.

If you have a headache you can take medicine for it...don't overdo it of course but certainly - it's perfectly fine to take two advil or tylenol.
