Next the doc or lab will send on the blood sample or take a new sample to find out what genotype (the strain) you have, what your virus load is, maybe a more detailed blood panel to check your liver levels, probably do an ultrasound, maybe do a biopsy. I just found out last September that I had it myself, and this is how the course of events went for me (though I didn't have a biopsy, but would have if I had decided to wait on treatment). Everyone is different, and depending on your unique situation, you doctor may do other tests, etc. My doctor, said the good news was there are new drugs that can cure you of this virus that are out now, and also there are new ones on the horizon. So let us know what happens. Good luck! It is not the end of the world!

Dont be scared Hep C is treatable! There are so many options these days. First youll have get info on your status . Like how long have you had it? and how healthy is your liver? Depending on that info  Doc will let you know next steps to take. Stay posted on here and keep us informed of any questions or concerns you might have. I was also terrified of my diagnosis but soon found out from the wonderful people on here not to be . :)

Let us know what DOC says? Also dont drink alchohol and dont take any pills, supplements, that your doctor isnt aware of. Drink lots of water for now!
