What organizations are raising money for research for hep c?

Maybe this is the wrong forum, but now that I have been dx and txing, I wonder how I can help educate and/or raise money for research.  Mind you I'm still trying to understand my own dx (so much to learn), but I'm really appalled at myself and others who know nothing of this virus.  There is so fundraising for so many illnesses, but I've never seen anything about hep c.  Maybe I just didn't notice because it hadn't touched my life, but maybe there isn't that much education of the masses after all.  Just a question and a thought.  Maybe this should have been on the social forum.
Warmly,
Wilful

Thanks, Cathy.  I had a conversation with a woman who sells Pampered Chef and she told me that sometimes they do fund raisers for different causes and my brain actually started to think a bit lol.  I will check out the ALF to see if there are any chapters in RI.  Glad to hear you started tx.  The waiting initially is so awful, but now I'm into my ninth week and it seems to have flown by.  Not the days but the weeks.  Yesterday, I actually had a great day; I really felt almost like my old self, so it gave me a lot of hope.  On days when I really couldn't respond to the post, I just read them and it kept me going to know I wasn't alone.  I'm driving my family crazy, but hey...I'm not stopping until the hope is gone and then I will try again.
Nice to hear from you.

Hi!  How have you been doing?  The only organization that I can think of right off hand is the American Liver Foundation. I kind of stumbled across their website, and saw they were having a "Liver Life Walk" in Kansas City, and jumped right in in time to raise a couple of hundred bucks, and get a tee shirt.  Just google the foundation, and you'll find it.

I've just jumped on the treatment train today.  Here's to SVR,
