Wow Vertex up $2.00 today

Big jump today on share prices.  In the past these kinda moves happen just before info becomes public.

Great to hear you're doing so well, count your lucky stars. I had a rash meltdown like PDS, holding my own for now. Just hoping to at least complete the first 12 wks without stopping meds or getting dropped. I think once the VX is out of the picture, I'm hoping I can settle down to a "normal" grade of SOC misery and go the distance. I'm suspicious the VX is reacting with the riba/IFN and that's what might be producing this rash. Don't know for sure, but I'm thinking if I can get rid of either the VX or the riba, this problem will clear up or at least become manageable (without immune suppressants like prednisone).

Anyway, taking it one day at a time. I hope we all make it, whatever group we end up in. Best of luck to you, here's to an SVR for all of us.

My experience of tx has been a breeze compared to some of the suffering I read about here. My sx have been typical - itch [no rash], fatigue, disrupted sleeping pattern, anemia [HGB dropped to 10.0, then screamed up to 10.5 two weeks later, so no dose reduction or rescue drugs].

That's until 48 hours ago, when I must have picked up something nasty and crashed in a heap for almost two days. Can't remember feeling more miserable - fever, chills, nausea, squirts [term of art], headache, and more. I'm OK today, so whatever it was has passed.

My white tabs are extremely powdery. Taste is fairly neautral, but they dissolve quickly.

Hey, just wondering what your VX pills taste like? (a thorough description please) And also how have you been holding up during your treatment? Any probs? Anemia? rashes? etc?? Any interesting VX/study group stories?? Just wondering how you're coming along, as I believe you're the farthest along out of our group, thanks.

I'm one week from the last of the VX-950. Still don't know how long the soc will continue, and probably won't know until week 20 or so.

There's some expectation that Vertex will present some early Prove 1 data at the liver conference in Boston late this month.

There's still a guy in my support group who is in the phase II trial and still doing well on it.

VRTX has received many upgrades over the past few weeks-S&P recently upgraded to strong buy.
There have been a few others also.
Each time it has moved up.
Not that much of a surprise to see it up on an upgrade.

Looks like this is the reason.  I wonder how they know strong results will be comming from the prove I trials?

upgraded at Merrill: VRTX was upgraded to Buy, Merrill Lynch said. Strong Phase II data should be coming from the PROVE 1 trial soon,
