Are your labs always every two weeks?
I had a bladder infection after 1 wk of starting triple therapy. I couldn't believe it. But the antibiotics worked and so far so good. I was undetected at week 3 so it didn't seem to have any impact. I'm in week 5 now. Can't wait till week 12!
thanks for your responses. i have an appointment with my DR on wed to discuss it further. i don't think i want to take anymore meds unless it's essential.
i think it's just the sides messin me up. gotta deal with it.
i had ear and throat problems throughout tx...as well as almost constant ringing in my left ear...the good thing is post incivek that sx was much easier to handle...the incivek made me feel like i was hit on the side of my head and was a recovering boxer...not fun stuff ..
Hi,
I had similar issues during tx with Incivek and working with my GP and gastro was given amoxicillin. I am currently SVR so it all worked. As usual the gang (Hector, OH, and Dee) have given you great advice. Talk to your docs and best of luck on your journey!

Hi just wanted to say I am sorry you are feeling bad. Hawk and Hector have given great advice.
I just wanted to say, I hope you feel better soon
Dee
If you look at the Incivek label
http://pi.vrtx.com/files/uspi_telaprevir.pdf
you will see the following...
Table 5: Established and Other Potentially Significant Drug Interactions: Alterations in Dose or Regimen May Be Recommended Based on Drug Interaction Studies or Predicted Interaction [See Clinical Pharmacology (12.3) (Tables 6 and 7) for Magnitude of Interaction.]
ANTIBACTERIALS
clarithromycin
erythromycin
telithromycin
Effect on concentration of INCIVEK or Concomitant Drug
↑ telaprevir
↑ antibacterials
Concentrations of both telaprevir and the antibacterial may be increased during co-administration. Caution is warranted and clinical monitoring is recommended when co-administered with telaprevir. QT interval
prolongation and Torsade de Pointes have been reported with clarithromycin and erythromycin. QT interval prolongation has been reported with telithromycin.
I would talk with your gastro or hepatologist about what is the most appropriate drug for your condition that doesn't interact with Incivek.
So you feel so bad.
Good luck to you!
Hector
You can but you should be running everything by your hepatologist, or GI or whoever is doing your treatment. Call them and ask. Don't wait for next week.
