any alcohol use?

I have finished treatment for hep c and am showing no signs of the disease in my system any longer, have not had any alcohol for a year now. Is it alright to have just an occasional beer or two once in awhile? without exess of course!

I have been clear of the dragon for a couple of years now after successful tx
and of course abstained entirely during treatment. My Dr. said not to drink but didn't give me any reason, I assumed that because I had a prior history of alchohol abuse that he felt I should stay away. Well of course I do what I want and always did so I have a few beers (never anything stronger) now and then. If I do have more than three without a couple of days between, I will feel a pressure in my liver area which I assume is inflamation.

liver has some scaring, thats it as far as I know. however I did just finish with the treatment. I realize that alcohol is not good for the liver but either is half the crap we have to eat! I know I can't afford to feed my family organic food! with all the chemicals in our food  how can a few beers a week be all that bad? I dont know. lol. Thank you  for all your opinions. To me they count!

If you are definitely SVR having had your six month test at least and you are not in advanced liver stage an occasional drink isn't going to hurt you most likely. I know my doctor said one a year but.....I hardly ever follow that rule. Not good advice to give but I've been cured for over three years now. Still I wouldn't have wanted to ask my doctor either knowing what he would say.......so you understand this is just us guessing that it might not hurt you and we definitely aren't doctors and it's totally opinion.

Congrats on finishing treatment. Have you had your post-treatment PCR tests yet? What stage were you when you started treating? How long since you finished treating?

what condition is your liver in?
even without HCV you could have liver damage that alcohol would bother - but ultimately I would ask your Dr!
congrats on finishing your treatment!
