fever?

Ok i haven't even taken my shot yet just both doses of riba pills and i am already starting to get fever. I have had chills off and on all day. Is this normal should i worry? I know that the peg shots can cause the flu symptoms but can the riba before the peg shot? Am I over reacting?

Hey Ninja,

The combination of all of the meds can cause Flu-like symptoms (I think).  Plus, in the beginning, with the meds hitting you full force, the body is only so prepared for the shock to the system.  The doctor's advise taking Advil or Tylenol 30-45 minutes before the shot, and the same holds true for the other meds too.  You may find that some days you need it and some you don't.  Best thing is to stay ahead of the game, so if you even start to feel Flu-like, take something and you will be fine.

As many horror stories as you may have heard, keep in mind that everybody's body responds differently.  Early on, I found I needed to take Advil.  Later, not so much.

My husband has run low grade fevers and had chills/body aches, etc. with all 3 treatments, usually on the evening of and 1-2 days after interferon.  However, early in the current treatment (triple tx Inc.) he had a night of extreme chills (with severe shaking) but did not actually run a fever, and it was the night before the interferon.  His NP called it "rigors".  He's had some chills off and on since then, but nothing like what he had that night.  I guess it's just one of those on again off again symptoms that happen while on treatment that can pop up randomly without a specific reason.

I run a fever off and on from day one. I don't take anything unless it's over 100 or so. Children's Tylenol helps w fever n aches n my dr approved. It does lessen after incivk is outta the picture. Drink a lot of water. Every side effect can be a reminder that your body IS responding.  Take care! Congrats on staring tx. Karen :)

I have 3 weeks left out of 24 and I had numerous fevers. Night sweats like nothing I have ever experienced before. No rhime or reason. They just come. Even now. One night last week think maybe wed, thur had a fever and the night sweats have been pretty consistant for the last couple, not every night but often. And I do my shot on friday night so saturday morning is usually not finding me at my best. :) feel pretty good the the night sweats are a pain in the butt.
