blood blisters

Does anyone else get tiny little blood blisters (they are shingle-like/chicken pox-like blisters) all over their skin?  They seem to erupt sporadically.  Combine that with the rash and I'm about ready to go crazy.  Or is going crazy just another side effect?

            Thank you for the encouraging words. It's good to hear from you too. How have you been lately? I am guessing, still in the watch & wait mode. Stay there as long as your body will let you. You are very healthy. Unless something drastic changes in your health ( if I were you ) I would not do the current tx. Yes, I do not sound like a person living with a chronic disease and I do a good job of faking people out. But, there are some mornings that my joints & legs tell me a different story. Ha! Never the less, I am enjoying life again & live it to the fullest. God Bless you Susan and may you continue in good health.

         How are you? I can't remember your stats? I do know that you did have the cryo too and tx for much longer than the 48 weeks? Am I correct? How are you feeling? I know that you had some very bad post tx sx too. I feel for you sister. I only did 6 months, can't imagine the 18 month thing. As my Mom would say.......You are one tough cookie. I hope you stay SVR forever.

Yes, this cryo sure is a strange one, isn't it? It's very hard to predict what course it will take. I've heard a lot of conflicting info on the cryo, as well. I don't believe they really understand the nature of the beast anyway ( they just act like they do! LOL!) I was told that if it does come back and begins to do some serious damage, I can either do low dose peg or the plasma exchange thing. I have never heard of mono Riba though. There was another drug recommended to me as well, Rutinex or something?  

I don't want to think about pills or shots though, just beaches & Cold stone ice cream and walking my mini Duchshunds. LOL! I wish you well Ina, good to hear from you. God Bless, Sue

First solution for strawberry moles is don't plant strawberries. If you can't abide by that, you're gonna hafta gas them puppies. Find their holes, and toss a couple road flares down each one. Wait for them to stagger out and whack-em hard with the back end of a shovel. Don't let the litttle cute faces fool you either, they do that just to trick ya. Same with the little pink babies. you know, mine are barely raised and they don't itch at all, I've heard them referred to as "strawberry moles" dang if I know what they are, don't think these are from riba though, see them on many people...they are very tiny for the most part....i've had them for years...hope youre doing well...my little moles prob don't even rate here but I thought I'd ask nonetheless...

you know what I've had for the longest time and I've never treated, is these little tiny "strawberry moles", they are like little red dots, tiny broken vessels or something, and they are scattered across my chest and stomach, they are very small and not that noticable, I've often wondered about them...I'm so used to them that I forget to ask the doc about them...does anyone else have these? what are they from? otherwise my skin is very good, I guess me and Chev are skin freaks...wait a minute, that didn't sound right, you know what I mean....

Forseegood-i get them spots too...on my upper back,shins& now forearms;mine itch at times so figured it was the infamous "riba rash" but not really manifesting in typical rash way....my answer is to drowned 'em with skincare products;i'm goin thru gallons!!! NYgirl's recommended GoldBond xtra medicated lotion(green bottle?red cap) works fine..i also been using highend hand glops-thicker the better:Allterrain healing hand rub is good-also expensive,but a little goes along way&it stays where yu put it!!

Great to "see" you, as always!  I'm so glad you're feeling better.  You were really going through some rough stuff last time you stopped by.  I'm particularly happy to hear that your cyro isn't giving you any trouble.  Hopefully you knocked some sense into it and it's thinking twice about taking you on again!

          I am doing great! I just got back from a cruise to Mexico and family reunion ( over 50 of us ) I have been enjoying our sunny weather all this week. It's going to hit 70* by Friday, I can't wait! My girls are all off school because of winter break, so I have been very busy. We are going horse backriding tomorrow.

Been feeling tons better now that I am 6 months post tx. But boy I tell you, at times, post tx was worse for me than actually treating. I really had to dig deep to get through all the junk.

My last labs show my enzymes only slightly elevated, 30's & 40's not too bad, vl back to 5.5 million, way better than 56 mill, I tell ya! Cryo seems to be hiding out, undetected levels or lab mistake. I choose to believe it's gone undetected. My Rheumy says I probably still have it ( lab mistake ) and it will rear it's ugly head again. If that does happens, they recommend doing 90 Peg per week just to keep the cryos down. But no Riba. Oh Yeah. Hate the riba. But I will cross that bridge when I come to it. Meantime, enjoying life & so glad to be feeling good again. Take Care, Sue

I bet I know, albeit, I hope in your case it is not true!!!!
My hubby had, still has those. It is called Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, or PCT for short(I like short) it is commonly associated with Hep C it is whats known as a "extrahepatic manifestation"
they say once you start tx they should subside. Hubbys' still come around but not near as bad .
It was b/c of those nasty little blisters that we found out we both had Hepc. I was trying to get him to a dermatologist.
If you just google the name you will learn a ton of stuff about this subject. I was amazed, and BTW, there isn't alot you can do about it,.......stay out of the sun, wear the sunscreen(super-strong kind) usually it is sun-exposed areas that look the worse.
Hope that helped a little, it's a nasty little disorder.

Hi Harty;
        I did not have riba rash on tx. But did experience a blood blister type thing on my legs, post tx ( mainly calves & ankle area ) My blood blisters were purpura. It is an auto immune thing, triggered by antibodies. It pretty much cleared up in 2-3 weeks by itself, but was strange to look at. Some purpura can be chronic and last a long time, that type of purpura usually is triggered by depressed platelets or something in that nature.

Your erruption could be from Riba rash & scratching. But it could also be something else. If it were me, just to be on the safe side, I would go to a Hematologist or Rheumy. They know more about these things than dermatologist or GPs. Hope you get some answers soon. Sue

Had the red spots, like bright red freckles on my shins and forearms. I'm into week 13 and they disappeared a couple of weeks ago. NYgirls told me it might be dry skin and someone else told me it was barnicles. Seeing I'm not a boat I went with NYgirls suggestion to keep skin treatment on it, can't remember the brand name though. That seemed to do the trick. Barnicle Dale

For me what I think is the little blood blister things are the remnants of the RibaRash that I've scratched.

The rash itself before I itch it is little white bumps I think but then once I scratch them..red red red.

I don't know if you mean but if this makes sense to you than that is what they are.
