burning mouth

Has anyone been diagnosed with burning mouth because of hep c?

I have had sores in my mouth for a while now the hurt an burn i have tried everything most of it helps a little but not much hang in there God bless

If I was you I would consult an Otolaryngologist.  ( An otolaryngologist specializes in care and treatment diseases and disorders that affect the ears, nose, throat, the respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures of the head and neck.)

There are many things that could cause burning mouth. That is why a person should be seen by a specialist.

I did find information that Lichen Planus, which is associated with Hep C, can cause burning mouth.

"Lichen planus is an inflammatory condition that can produce specific symptoms on the skin, nails, scalp, mouth tissues and genitals. On the skin, it produces a reddish-purple, itchy rash with flat bumps or a white, lacy appearance. In the mouth, it can produce a burning sensation, sore gums, tenderness when eating or toothbrushing and a metallic taste. Lichen planus isn't communicable. Theories about the cause of the disease propose it is an allergic or autoimmune response. Those with hepatitis C are at increased risk for contracting lichen planus. The disease can cause severe itching or mouth sores, or it can be relatively mild and require no treatment."

I am thinking you have thrush, which I did have. It was only by accident , I discovered if I remove sugar and  excessive carbs from my diet, the thrush goes away. On tr tx sometimes the thrush returns, so I then become more vigillant about diet....
