chronic hepatitis grade 2 activity stage 3 fibrosis

why is the biopsy so hard to read and understand when you can't see your dr after you recieve these results by the dr thar performed them he states your histologist will explain but that would be as early as nov well i guess i will ask this site for help, anyone know all of this on biopsy with microscopic comments

sections of liver biopsy show 2 short cores of liver parenchyma with focal architectural distortion. these cores fragmented and portal areas are present but these exhibit significant crush artifact. portal areas appear expanded by fibrosis and crushed lymphoid aggregates. the inflammatory infiltrate appears to be lymphocytic. this inflammatory infiltrate extends across the limitting plate and individual hepatocyte necrosis is not appreciated. minnimal fatty change is noted no accute inflammation, viral change , granulomas, cholestasis, alcoholic hyaline, or malignacy are identified. pas stains with and without diatase show adequate glycogen. an iron stain is negative. a reticulin stain highlights stromal fibrosis. trichrome stain highlight periportal fibrosis  with focal architectural distortion . special stain controls are adeguate.
can anyone tell me this in a down to earth description i know this is bad dx but still dont understand it

PS - there is more good news in there. You don't have any appreciable fatty infiltration, no malignancies, or iron issues.

Others will be along shortly to expand on this.

Actually, grade 2 stage 3 is not really a "bad" diagnosis. It's not the best, but certainly not the worst.

It sounds to me like all that other mumbo jumbo at the beginning is a pathologists way of saying "this isn't a very good sample. It's all smashed up."

But I would say be sure to keep your followup appointment. You'll want to start planning a course of action - even if that action is waiting a little longer.
