I think you get it because of dehydration - no matter how much we drink while on tx we are all still terribly dehydrated - have you been making sure you are drinking half your weight in ounces of water a day?
Like if you weigh 120 you drink 60 oz a day.
I have the same cough and the only thing that helped was a couple rounds of Cipro, lots of fluids....
Join the club. I've had an unbelievable cough since shortly after starting treatment. It has gotten worse as my ribavirin dose has increased to 1600 per day. I think I've tried it all, even prescription cough syrup. Nothing touches it. It's driving me and my family crazy, but I'm probably stuck with it while undergoing treatment.
A friend told me about a study that showed that chocolate was effective for cough. That's next on my list.

Once in a while I get a kind of dry hack (like a smoker gets). I have found that staying hydrated helped me. We are all different though and you may already be consuming plenty of liquids.
The lozenges make the throat kinda tacky which may work against you. I also like the idea of Tea and Honey!
Good luck!
Do you think honey may help with the dry cough?
well, I was walking around for a few months with a cough. went to dr., she said I don't like the sound of that rattling and ordered arithmycin (z-pack)..thaty was 6 days ago...cough is about gone...and no more rattle.
All the best.

ive been dealing with the same thing, ive eaten about 2 bags of sugarless ricola a week (i am so sick of lozenges) :) the other thing that used to help was hot tea, specifically the tazo "african red bush" after a few months that stopped working and it was back to the ricola :(
