cyclobenziprene and other posts

Good morning (here in the NE at least). Does anyone know if the muscle relaxer cyclobenzaprene (sp?) is okay to take? My back has been really hurting for a couple of days now --probably a combination of stress and tx-- and my Mom has this particular muscle relaxer. I am not one to take pills at all--rarely even tylenol-- but,it will undoubtedly take several days  to get in to see a chiropractor and if it keeps on hurting as it has, I may need to medicate. It's okay now, but last night was quite painful. So, do you think it would be alright to take one here and there if the pain gets that bad againthanks,
Lauren

That's Flexeril. In my opinion it's one of the best muscle relaxers there is. I can't take it though because of heart condition, it worsens the palpitations.  If I were you I would take 1/2.  Your back will feel better but you may be drowsy.
The only muscle relaxers prescribed for me are Skelaxin(which is bad for the liver-but doesn't make you drowsy) and Valium. In my opinion, Valium is the safest & works well for short term use.
Feel better  :-)

My hepatologist prescribed Flexeril for me when I started having bad bone and muscle aches. He said that I could take up to three a day if needed. Hope it helps.
