estrogen, and tx drugs

I did find out today that I have no estrogen or testosterone, which means I believe based on older posts that I read on this that the drugs may have thrown me into menopause.

Not surprised as it seems to be a common thing.  Does anyone know why this happens??

I am currently starting estrogen/progest/test therapy,,lozenges and cream so as not to be absorbed by liver.  There is a slight passing through the liver, but a very small percentage compared to pills.
I have not consulted an endocrinolgist as I am having my levels tested in 6 weeks again.  I suspect that the hormones will balance out as time goes on and off treatment which is what I am hoping for.

Thanks for your response.

I’ve heard anecdotal reports from women that state they have undergone menopause during IFN treatment. I don’t know if the IFN caused this occurrence, or if it was merely coincidental. Many women do HCV therapy at the normal biological timeframe that menopause occurs in naturally, of course.

Have you consulted an endocrinologist?
