I know Dr. Zhang. He is a good man, and knows quite a bit about liver disease and traditional chinese medicine. He does not make false claims to "cure'' hep c, but can offer supportive herbal programs. His herbal programs are quite expensive, but I THINK that they can be trusted to be of good quality.
I agree with Hector that you should be gearing up for treatment with the new meds when the come to market. Until that time, however, a consult with Dr. Zhang may not be a bad idea.
Good luck to you. Please let us know how your visit goes.
If you were a nonresponder, genotype 1, who has stage 3 fibrosis you should be looking at treating with the new meds (DAAs) that hopefully will come to market this year. Most genotype 1 patients fail to achieve SVR using the current treatment (peg-IFN & Riba). Retreating with the new meds will give you the best chances of clearing the virus ever.
Good luck.

Hi Sprouts. sorry to hear you are a nonresponder. I guess we are a fairly big club. I don't know much about Dr. Zhang so I can't help there. Are you a geno 1? Is there a reason you are not going to try telaprevir?
Here's a link to a discussion on Dr Zhang. You can find more by typing his name in the Search this Community box in the column to the right of your question.

It's usually pretty slow around here on the weekends, but if you're patient someone with experience will show up sooner or later.
