fibrosis

Can there be continued worsening of liver fibrosis even if enzyme levels are normal? Inflamation is a big reason for increased fibrosis but is it only high enzyme levels that will indicate inflamation?

ps...Hi all you oldy goldies, I still recognize so many names!

Hi Morgaina I sure remember you I'm SO very glad that you are doing well!!!!!!!!

I don't really know the answer but my guess would be that since high liver enzymes result from each time a liver cell dies it releases that enzyme...low liver enzymes would mean much lower cell death (all our cells die and are replaced so I guess there has to be SOME number there) that the liver fibrosis would be halted in its tracks.

At least that's what I've been hoping it means!  :)

How nice to see you and find out you're still successful - I guess by this point it means we've made it!

Take care,
Debby

That's a great question, i hope someone responds with
a positive answer....
my VL IS very high  22,000,000
but oddly enough my enzymes levels are very normal

i asked my hep doctor, was it better to have a high VL and normal enzyme levels or vice versa

he said NORMAL enzymes was better
