I just finished tx. Stopped at 23 wks. Unbearable mouth sores. I only had one wk left so dr. said go ahead and quit.I have UND since wk 4.The tx is tough but worth it.
Good Luck with tx

Sorry to hear that you have HCV.
Tonight is my second to last shot. During treatment my Dr. forbids his patients to be on the internet regarding HCV. Told me do it before or after treatment, not during. Said he would get me through anything that came my way and he did.
I highly doubt anyone is going to post, "what's all the fuss about? I have had no side effects" There are many, many people who have very little to no side effects. I did all my research in advance, as instructed. Outside of gaining knowledgeable facts, I became scared to death! I quickly found out why my Dr. said that. Truthfully, my treatment has been no where near as bad as I had anticipated. No, I haven't been side effect free, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
Finding the right Dr. for you, when you decide, is something I found to be very important for me. I had to trust in him to save my life & he did. Good Luck with your decision.

Nothing cures HepC except for the current standard therapy. Interferon....

Herbs do not cure.

I treated for 55 weeks with Interferon and Riba. I treated for 7 additional weeks on top of the 48. It was very debilitating however...I am SVR! cured.

If I had to I would do it again. It beats liver failure! Not a pleasant thing to go through.
Just know if you treat you will be giving up a year of your life to help your liver.

Its a very difficult treatment and can cause many problems,,,but it does end and does give you a chance to get well.

Like I said as bad as it was I would do it again if I had to , to get well.

Best of luck..

Im a 1A
and had a viral load of 75 million
Stage 2.- Moderate scarring.

I would stick with the approved medicines like GSDgirl mentioned. I don't have any solid faith in anything else in the herbs area this is serious & requires a serious look at things.
Peginterferon alfa-2b + Ribavirin 1400mg I am on week 40 only 8 to go phew I'm UND since first tested at week 12, I never got tested before that but I wish I had the 4wk test ... I give scherring plough the big thumbs up so far... Good news for all in 2010

I was dx 7 years ago and will be starting tx in Feb. That is how long it took me to decide. I did the herbs, vitamins, accupucture, etc and  realize that the virus will always be with me until I try Interferon and ribavirian. I have read every book, seen 10 different doctors, read a million sites on web and it all boils down to I don't know how my body will react to tx all I know is I am willing now to try and I do not want to live with Hepatitis C anymore. Good luck, do ALL the research you need to do and when you are ready you will know.

I know nothing about ubit but I do not have the virus in my blood which is called SVR.  Interferon & ribavirian are the only treatment proven to get rid of the virus.
