Cherylj48,
Here is a little bit of information about genotypes.  Although it doesn't say which treatments are recommended for which genotype, it is interesting background information:

Currently for genotypes 1, 2 and 3 the SVR (cure) rate is around 75 to 80%, geno 1's being treated with interferon, ribavirin and one of the available protease inhibitors (incivek or victrelis) with treatment durations of 24 or 48 wks with incivek or 28 ,36 or 48 wks with victrelis treatment, time depends on factors such as early response to the drugs and prior treatment attempt responses, for geno 2's and 3's treatment is 24 wks with interferon and ribavirin, for geno 4's the SVR rates are lower around 40 to 50% and treated with interferon and ribavirin for 48 wks, I am not familiar with the respones rates or treatment regimens for geno's 5 and 6 but could research it for you if needed.

Do you have HCV and if so do you know your genotype also if you do have HCV have you had a biopsy or other testing to assess how much liver damage you may have ?

Welcome to the forum.

I believe they all respond, albeit at varying rates of success.

Do you have Hepatitis C and, if so, which Genotype. If you tell us which Genotype you are then we can better respond to questions.
