my question is my dr  sy my test results are hep c ab index 0.04 anti-hep c ab nagative what it means

I think you’re fine. The ‘hcv load bDNA 615ml’ is the important number, actually; it tests for presence of active virus, and 615 IU/mL is the lower limit of the test. It would be presumed if actively infected, this number would be in the 100,000’s if not millions. You are virus free and can relax.

Hi Mariquita—

The result sounds like a very low signal to cut off ratio, indicating you don’t have HCV. Do the results show a ‘reference range’? Does it say ‘non reactive’?
