Thanks Mr Bill.for given me the best information.
From a personal perspective I used Pegasys in 2005 but was unsuccessful; I relapsed shortly after treatment stopped. I was successful in my second attempt using Pegintron.
There are many other factors involved though. I was genotype 1, not genotype 3. Additionally, host (patient) as well as viral genetics need to be considered; these are questions best addressed by a medical professional.
What country do you live in? I ask because sometimes clinical trials are available; these can offer novel medications and cutting-edge care; sometimes for little to no cost to the patient. Ask you doctor if there are clinical trials conducted in your area you might benefit from.
Again, good luck-

You all good with this one Bill?? :0)
Ok Mr Bill, what is your opinion about pegyses injection, how is your experience in 2005.Have u find nagative heppatites c with pegyses injection.and secondly tell me what is the percentage of heppatites c patients who have use the pegyses injcecton and they find negative .
I am not a physician, but a patient like yourself.
Personally I would not use both Pegasys and Pegintron at the same time; please discuss all drugs with your doctor. The two drugs are similar in action; there are slight differences in their chemistry though.
Clinical trials have shown both Pegasys and Pegintron nearly equal in efficacy. One large study compared the two drugs; here is a quick overview:

Yes, Roche Pharmaceuticals is excellent; I used Roche’s Pegasys in 2005. I believe Roche was recently purchased by Genentech; this might explain the confusion.
Good luck-

yes,the doctor advice me pagyses injection with ribavarin capsole for 6 months.the company name is Roches, but he dont advice me another pegintron injection, can I take both Injection together in ur point of view?Because both pegyses and pegintron are different kind of injection?and how is Roches company? It has not high standard in world?
It appears you have been using one of the older interferons that requires 3 x week dosing.
There are newer, more effective drugs called ‘pegylated’ interferons’ that were accepted as the standard of care in western medicine in 2001.
Ask your doctor about the drugs Pegasys (Genentech pharmaceuticals) and Pegintron (Merck Pharmaceuticals). Both are pegylated interferon drugs.
Sorry to hear of your troubles; this disease can be costly and problematic for many. Good luck,

Sir,I have started interferon with ribavarin capsole before 2 years.weekly 3 injecton for 6 months, after finished my course in 6 months my pcr was just 11,000 out of 102000.and ALT was 29.then doctor advice me to take one month more interferon injection after 7 month my pcr was directly up 11000 to 411,000 i was worried about this,Now doctor advice me for pegyses injection with ribavarin capsole for 6 months, now latest my Pcr is 12,00,000 quantity and Alt is 60.Kindly tell me pegysys is better an option for me? or Shoud take again simple interferon?
Hi Amirkhan-
I’m sorry to hear of your relapse; this occurs with genotype 3 patients occasionally. You might ask your doctor to change your treatment protocol somehow; different type of interferon (Pegasys to Pegintron, perhaps). The last time you did the treatment were you fully compliant with meds; did you take the ribavirin and interferon on time as scheduled? It might benefit you to increase ribavirin dosage if possible, dependent on blood values.
In short, something should probably change in regards to your medication to expect a different outcome the second treatment.
Good luck-

yes,I am the patient of heppatites c my genotype is 3a I have complete my interferon course for 6 months.but failed, now doctor advice me for pegyses injection, my ALT is 60 and PCR is 12,00 000.quantitative.my age is 35,kindly tell me after pegyses course my heppatites will be nagative?
Results depend on a number of factors; do you know the genotype, or strain of HCV you have? This, among other factors help determine the efficacy of therapy. Tell the group more about your treatment and yourself, and perhaps someone here can offer their thoughts.
