Excuse me Jamal.,
I should have said you may have been exposed to the virus; with a low s c/o ratio like that, you might never have been exposed in the first place. If you are curious, a RIBA test will confirm initial exposure. However, the important thing to remember is that you are NOT infected with HCV!
Bill
Hi Jamal,
If you are HCV antibody positive/reactive, and HCV RNA negative, that means you are NOT infected with HCV (Hepatitis C).
At one time you were exposed to the disease, and developed antibodies; however, you were able to clear the disease with the help of your own immune response.
There is nothing you can do to remove HCV antibodies; they will not harm you in any way, but you will not be able to donate blood in the future.
HCV antibodies are something that our own bodies produce; they are not contagious, nor do they pose any health problems.
Congratulations; you can go on to enjoy a healthy life,
Bill
