I agree with Rivil. I'm very fond of hiking, but at 3 weeks post-EOT what I was up to doing was more in the category of strolling or wandering. If you want to do something akin to a hike, I would recommend making it more of a "discovery" walk, with a slow pace, a short distance and lots of close examination of the natural beauties you find along the trail. I'm now 6 months post-EOT and I still have to take this approach on at least half of my "hikes". I'm thankful that this approach is easy to appreciate as a photographer - though it gets frustrating for my husband and erstwhile hiking companion. We've settled on a compromise of starting our walks together until I begin to make longer photography stops, then he goes on ahead without me and we meet up again when he's on his way back. I'm sure you will enjoy being out at camp but do take it easy to ensure it stays fun!
I wouldn't take on anything that is physically demanding. I think your routine will be quite enough.
It takes time for the drugs to leave your body, so I would err on the side of caution and enjoy myself with less strenuous activities.
Congratulations on getting so far, you are coming down the home stretch!
I've skipped 2 shots but took the one in between. Last week my ANC was back down to 602 so we skipped last weeks shot. The week I skipped it jumped to 900 then right back down to 600. Hy HGB was 12.3 last week and I will get results from this mornings cbc later today. My ANC seems to jump when we skip a shot but everything else stays right around the same. My platelets hover in the mid 60's since I started eating liver twice a week.
I've managed to get through most of tx without most of the girls realizing there's anything going on. One girl has asked a few times why I looked sick but I told her I was on antibiotics and they make me feel bad.
I wonder if I have more of a chance of having a seizure post tx since I had one at the beginning? We have a seizure plan just in case.
Girl Scout Camp sounds fun and nice and diverting. Like anything you have to pace yourself. None of can really predict at this point since things like hiking is one thing and being a leader in charge of other people's kids is another. At this point I say "play it by ear" It varies for everyone how soon you feel better. The hiking sounds fun though. You deserve a break :)
Three weeks off is a long way off even though it is right around the corner. I remember you skipped a shot (right?) and are you on reduced doses...? or what? What is the exact value(s) of your ANC & Hgb? Just curious what they are now compared to what they will be EOT?
Are you on triple? Will you be around for four week labs? If so comparing EOT labs with your 4 week labs might be a good way to evaluate. I realize that does not fit into the time frame though.
Good for you for sticking this out. I know it has been a tough road. I hope you keep us posted :)
At three weeks post treatment I was starting to feel pretty good. It took
a few months to really even out. Be careful in this post treatment time. Your body is trying to adjust to not having the treatment drugs in your body. I did notice my body would react by swelling if I over did it post treatment. Just don't over due, like I did with the Girl Scout cookies. You'll pay for it later: ).
Have Fun
