I was diagnosed with hep c with damage to my liver I hurt in my stomach constantly I can't seem to get woke up in the mornings my legs hurt a lot don't know if its age or what LOL but just wanted to know what kind of help is out there my boss don't carry insurance and I'm strapped can anyone help thank-you for listening to my violen story help

I am sorry that you have been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, that you have liver damage, and that you are having these medical problems.

Hepatitis C Genotype
Liver Biopsy results
Liver Function Test results
Platelet Count
Any other test results that you have

Hepatitis C can be treated and cured. Finding out how advanced your liver disease is is urgent and crucial so that you can decide (with your Hepatitologist) when to treat and which treatment you should do.

If you have liver damage, you should be seen by a Hepatologist (liver specialist) because they are the doctors who are knowledgeable and experienced in treating people with Hepatitis C, especially if you have liver damage.

If you are able to do treatment, then it would be best to treat soon. If you have liver damage, time may not on your side. The more your liver damage progresses, the harder it will be to treat successfully.

I see you are located in TN. It looks like you are fairly close to Nashville. Vanderbilt University Medical Center is in Nashville. Most large university affiliated medical centers do have patient financial assistance available. Call Vanderbuilt and ask for the social worker/social services and/or the financial assistance program/office. Tell them your situation. They should be able to assist you financially.

You didn't mention how much liver damage you have or what genotype of Hep C you have. It is very important to learn as much as you can, so that you can get insurance or assistance and treat your Hep C or it will keep on damaging your liver.

You can also call a program called PEGAssist. You'll find them at www.pegasys.com or call 1-877-734-2797. They are actually very helpful and have covered the costs of many peoples medication, both the copegus( ribavirin) and the pegasys(peginterferon-alfa-2a) which are used to treat Hepatitis C. They are connected to the manufacturer,Roche.

Since your working, you can always get your own insurance. I did even with a pre-existing condition...its called the pre-existing condition insurance plan. Its actually very good PPO insurance...I use it and they cover my meds.
