is it ok to drink pills for muscle pain during tx?

I have a pain in my neck that started a week before tx. Its been like 2 month and I haven't taken anything for it since its not good to take pills during tx.

What should I do. Cause the pain doesn't even let me sleep. My doctor said to take Ketorolaco. He said to buy it in IV form and put it in a juice and drink it. He said to do this so its not in a pill form and it doesn't go through my liver.

Has anyone done this. Has anyone taken Ketorolaco in iv form and drank it. Is it ok for me to drink this.

Let me now guys.

Where's you doctor from? Jamaica? Does he have dredlocks and give you "herbs"? Why not crussh up some aspirin and mix it with OJ? Not pills any more.

Also... who told you it wasn't good to take pills during tx? I take 14 pills every morning... some are vitamins, anti-depressants, blood pressure pills, blood thinners, etc. You take what you need to get through tx as well as possible.

"My pain is not a pain for tylenol or ibuprofen. I need something stronger for this kind of pain. I need analgesic and antiflamattories."

Ibuprofen is called an NSAID which stands for Non Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug. Try it... I know it hurts really bad. Sometimes when I have ignored it when it first starts hurting, I hurt so bad that tears come to my eyes while I'm waiting for the Ibuprofen to kick in. I often have it from my neck down my back and down my legs and it feels like agony... and the Ibuprofen works for me.

My main point was that what your doctor said sounded odd.

For sure.... get rid of that pain.

What????????

I never would have thought that a doctor would say a liquid wouldn't go through your liver but a pill would. Everything you put in your mouth goes to your stomach, then into your small intestines, into the blood and straight to the liver before it is sent to the rest of the body.

What kind of doctor is he?

Mine told me I could take Ibuprofen. My blood tends to be too thick though, so I don't have the bleeding worry that most here have. If you do have a bleeding issue, go with the Tylenol. There is no reason for you to have to stay in pain all the time. The stress of the pain can hurt your immune system so take care of yourself.

Oh my goodness.  A doctor telling a patient to drink in liquid form rather than pill form because it doesn't go through your liver that way?

Everything goes through the liver, whether it's liquid, tabs or pills.  Ketorolaco is an NSAID, just don't exceed the recommended dosage and there is no reason why you can't take it in pill form. It would probably be faster acting in liquid form but it won't by-pass your liver. Most of us are advised to take acetaphetamine.  It's safe when used as directed or according to whatever dosage your doctor prescribes.
