itchy question

I know this has been answered and I have been searching but can't find the past posts ( sorry Cindy, I tried).  What is that medicated anti-itch ointment, called? I actually wrote it down somewhere. . .

The best medicine to cure the rash and itch is Gold Bond Triple Threat Anti Itch Medicated Lotion - it's in the green bottle with the red top.

The more you use it the BETTER your skin will get.  And you have to continue using it AFTER the rash and itch disappear or they WILL come back.  Believe me.

I also used hydrocortizone .1% on the really really bad spots - but the main thing seems to be HYDRATING.  And the Gold Bond is thicker and last much longer than most lotions do. the menthol in it might make us smell like old people but - it does help. A LOT.

Just remember - put it all over your body more than once a day. IN three days your itch will be gone.

Thanks, I knew you'd come through. I don't have a rash and the itch is just starting but thats the kind of stuff I would get.
   What about your face ?

I sat down with my kids yesterday and searched "Why does it feel good to scratch an itch"  They thought that was funny.
We found that some sites said scrathing just created more itching. How can anyone know that, I mean if you scratch the ithch its because that itch makes you do it and damn it feels good. When in the world did a real itch just go away by its self? Only maybe if it wasnt a "real itch"
If your body didnt want that area to be scratched maybe it wouldnt have designed itself to make it so pleasurable that is untill the skin breaks. I guess thats when moderation comes in.
I LOVE THE SCRATCH  one of the better sx

I've been having problems with various treatment related rashes lately. I couldn't put any moisturizing lotions on my face because it was so sensitive it would feel like my skin was burning after applying the moisturizer (nearly all of them have alcohol, fragrances, dyes etc in them). After seeing my dermatologist, she said one of the best moisturizers for those with sensitive skin is, get this: CRISCO. She said as soon as you get out of the shower/bath, quickly pat your face dry and then apply the Crisco to seal in the moisture trapped within the freshly hydrated skin. All Crisco is, is hydrogenated (congealed) vegetable fat. It's all natural and has no dyes, perfumes, alcohol, preservatives etc in it. I've been using it ever since (just on my face) with great success. It works and doesn't burn or irritate my face. Only downside of Crisco is that my girlfriend says I smell like a cookie pan. Oh well, gotta take the good with the bad. ;-)

Otherwise if you have a serious itch/rash problem steroidal lotions can be used (and they REALLY work). But they're usually a last resort, and mostly should not be used on the face, groin or armpits. I'm using clobex on localized areas that flare up, mostly on my feet, ankles and hands.

Thats great but sometimes when I scratch it makes me itch more. I think I've hung around too many places with too many mosquitoes !! But I like your attitude. Itch, don't *****.

The rash doesn't usually show up on me til 4-5 days after the shot. Mine were just a little bit itchy in the beginning, and my advice is not to scratch it. I would just touch it a little with my arm & it would relieve it. So far I've never had to put anything on the red spots at the shot sites. Tho I do moisturize all of my skin.
I hope you have it easy with your skin too.

RE: ITCHY SCAPL: I did get the Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner for my itchy scalp.  I've used it twice & it seems to be helping. Also the scent of it is very refreshing & soothing. Almost minty.
Thanks to you ladies who recommended Tea Tree to me.

I think the itch is from dehydration.  It's the only thing that makes sense to me cause if I use a lot of lotion it goes away. Unfortunately I like the hottest showers in the world so I just scald my skin back off again - hey I can give good advice I just have a problem taking it!!!!!  ;)

Do whatever you have to to get rid of that stupid itch.

I put that Gold Bond on everywhere (although I admit I got regular old non-old-person-smelling GB for my face...enough was enough!!!)

I tried every single lotion that money could buy and we were going CRAZY in here a whole lot of us itchers - it wasn't until that ONE lotion that it seemed the majority of people found relief.  My kid bought it for me for Christmas (cause all I wanted in the world was to stop itching) and it worked. But the itch DID come back (cause I stopped using it figuring I was "healed") so DONT STOP!

Gosh I hope yours goes away with this stuff. (You'd think I work for them huh?)

LOL

In the last weeks of TX I got 5 ringworm looking sores about the size of quarters on my legs. They started as an itch and opened up from there. From then on I used lotion wehen I got an itch. No more sores came up.

But they did not go away until after TX. I even seen a dermatologyst and he got an biopsy and came back saying it is a medecation reaction.

After the relaps and seeing my new hep doc he asked about my first TX SX, I told him about them and he said it was because my Neupogen got low.

Do not scratch! For the scalp shampoo with T-gel daily care.
