itchy rash

Was recently diagoned with hep c, had for years they say. Probably explains my cholestasis with pregnancy, twice with both kids. Now I am having the same intense itching with no sleep! Started on my belly, then wrists and ankles, lots of swelling. Went a way for a week or so now its back!! Antihist, anti itch cream, nothing works! Is this lichen planus? Cholestasis?(not pregnant) It gets very hot and intense at night, help me!!!!

There is a medicine that worked for me.  It is Cholesteran.  Ask your doctor about it.  It works but you have to be able to drink a gritty drink.

Your condition sounds miserable; you didn’t mention being on HCV treatment, so I’ll assume you aren’t.

What stage liver disease are you in? Have you had a biopsy yet? How about liver function tests, more specifically, total bilirubin?
