last shot/wk of riba--mixed feelings

well i took my last shot (48/48) this past sun nite and am finishing up my last week of riba...should be thrilled right? well i am, but also scared...anyone go thru this?  i came to medhelp in 3/05 just after being diagnosed; this has been the most informative, compasionate place.....every person here welcomed me, comforted me, made me laugh, understood me, and most important were with me every step of the way....to cindy & phil, i thank you for giving us this space to journal our feelings, and commiserate with each other....medhelp can be happy, funny, angry, serious, up, down, in otherwords like my life.....you have been such a big part of it....
i now have the worries, will the virus return w/o the meds?  will all my sides leave me? how fast? everyone's different, i know but i know i can come here and read about someone thinking just what i'm wondering, join in a conversation about it...who knows? i'm proud to have finished 48 weeks and don't know how some have tolerated much much more....thanks...michelle

Congratulations on going the 48! Having stopped myself at 24, I've nothing but pure admiration for your courage and tenacity. Enjoy your new life free of things with bad initials like tx, bx, and HCV!

Michelle - Congrats on finishing tx.  I know you've had your ups and downs with it, but it seems the hardest part is over.  May you enjoy SVR forever, and a long, happy, healthy life.  DJ

Hi! I guess I should introduce myself. 51 year old male, 3 adult daughters (2 are twins) and I've been married for 28 years (let's hope we can stay married thru treatment). I love to wear Utilikilts.

It started when my wife made me get a physical when I turned 50, ha-ha before then I never went to doctors, now I go all the time. How life changes. I guessing I caught Hep.C back in the army (1972 - 1975) I got a tattoo in Panama, I guessing that is where it all started.

I was also diagonised with Hemochromatous (Spelling?) Which means I got a different X & Y chromasone from my Mom & Dad. My body retains to much iron naturally. The only way to treat it is with old fashion "Blood Letting" (bring on the leaches). I had to give a pint of blood per week, for 14 weeks until my iron levels dropped to normal. Now that my iron levels are down to normal we just monitor my levels and when I start retaining to much iron again with the "Blood Letting". Doctor said the Hemochromatous has done more damage to my Liver than the HepC.

So thats my story. Genotype 2, stage 3 with border line chirroris.

I've been reading this site for quite a while, I don't join in much, I can't type, spell or put a sentence together. THANKS everyone for all the advises and support.

HAVE A HAPPY DAY!
